“Best sushi in the area”
Reviewed July 19, 2014 via mobile

I've been eating at Roppongi regularly since it opened. It's my favorite meal in the area, and I actually prefer it to most sushi places in Chicago. I love sushi, and my husband is a complete sushi-snob. I like traditional maki, like spicy salmon, but the Gun Woo is the bomb. So good. Hubs orders nigiri (yellowtail, super-white, etc). He likes their offerings, but says "it's not as good as the stuff you can get in Hawaii or California,". Which is a ridiculous statement. C'mon...this is southern indiana, and it's damn good sushi!!!
I've been told that Korean ppl own it. If this is true, they need to offer Kalbi beef w/sides to make lettuce wraps. Please???

Prices are great. If we have sushi & wine in Chicago, it's $150 easy. At roppongi, a comparable meal with wine is like $75.

Food was amazing! Went as a family for a birthday. Young children and adults had fun at the habatchi grill. The cook was fun and entertaining. Will definately be back. Sushi was very fresh.

“good food, bad service”
Reviewed January 25, 2014

Food was great. However, drink service was terrible. Waiting 20 minutes or more gor a drink is ridiculous. Make sure you order more the one drink at a time. You will also need at least two hours to eat here since service moves at a snails pace.

“Great food sketchy service”
Reviewed January 20, 2014 via mobile

Eat here often. Sushi is always good, probably the best in evansville. However the wait staff are kind of 50 / 50 on delivering good service. No middle ground. Either excellent or you are wondering when Ed McMahon's ghost is going to pop out.

“Great food, great service.”
Reviewed December 29, 2013

We wanted to try a new restaurant in Evansville and decided Roppongi looked appealing from the outside so we gave it a try. Being sushi lovers we were hoping to find a new go to restaurant and that we did. The fish was very fresh and tasty. Since it was our first time there we tried out some basics. We had a tuna roll, crunch munch roll, and a derby roll. All were delicious! Lots of fish was included in the roll with just the right amount of rice. We also had shrimp fried rice with their house mayo sauce and it was the best rice and sauce I've had anywhere. Also ordered to start was gyoza, a house salad and soup. The house dressing is amazing and gyoza tasty. We will definitely be back and look forward to also trying the hibachi.
