We love New Japan. Hands down best ginger salad dressing anywhere. We usually enjoy sushi but the Oyakodon and noodle dishes are family faves also.

Our favorite dinner spot in Columbus. The chef is from Tokyo, and the menu reflects the authenticity. As soon as you start with the green tea and a pinch of spicy cabbage you know that you are in for a treat not expected in a small Midwestern town. Next you have to go with a few pieces of the Alabacore sushi (ordered by the piece) ... very clean taste. The miso soup exceeds the standard and the traditional salad will have you asking Teri if you can order the dressing to take home (you can't). Highly recommend the Nigimayaki (thin slices of beef wrapped around scallion and cheese cooked in teriyaki based sauce)to all. The shrimp tempura is as good as any I've had in Japan. This has almost turned into a weekly spot for us over the last 3 years. As a final comment, I notice the many Japanese customers ordering the different noodles so I assume they are very good as well. If you are accustomed to Japanese dining, I believe you will find all of the selections pleasing. If not....well...stay away from the eel as it is very traditional (means strong for the uninitiated) and the different teriyaki chicken, beef, and fish have ginger overtones.
