Owner description: Guruge Nature Park is the first theme park in Sri Lanka with amusement water fun mixed with glorious history tracing life in Sri Lanka as far back as 547 B.C. to the time of our first King. Guruge Nature Park really gets overcrowded during weekends, holidays and remains open from 9.00 a.m to 6.00 p.m daily throughout the year.Your visit will, undoubtedly be an unforgettable experience on viewing our glorious cultural, traditional and historical heritage as well as the entertaining attractions.Among future attractions to the park are a purpose-built Gem Museum chronicling the history of Gem mining and the importance of precious stones through Sri Lanka’s history, a unique butterfly and insect habitant and a Wave Pool to add to the rich experience of this theme Park. Guruge Nature Park.. The website and the large board on the main Colombo- Negombo Road made it look like a very interesting place to visit.

After entering it was a completely different story. After purchasing our ticket we had to pass by the Buddha Statue playing loud Buddhist Religious Music. We went into the highly anticipated Jurrasic Park section. Here again we came across countless Buddha Statues before we finally reached a few so called dinosaurs with red bulbs in their eyes. When we entered one section which had a board saying "The most terrifying Hunter" we saw a model of a dog urinating. A complete waste of time and money.
