Nice rooms. Very clean and comfortable. Difficult to get upgraded to the concierge level as a Gold member, however, given access to the lounge. The lounge is very spendy for drinks. $8 for a glass of cheap wine (Stone Cellars). That aside, all staff at the hotel are VERY friendly. I prefer this hotel to most in north Indy. The price is steep, however, unless you have a great corporate rate.

Room Tip: Always ask for an upgrade if you are Gold or higher. They don't seem to automatically assign th...

Normally we stay at the JW Marriott or Conrad when visiting Indianapolis, but we had a concert to attend on the north side of town, so Carmel it was. The Renaissance is a "newish" almost luxury hotel about 12 miles or so north of downtown. The clientele seems fairly refined, think business class with a touch of refinement. The art and decor is absolutely beautiful. Check-in was easy and painless as we arrived on a Sunday afternoon with little to no one else in the hotel. The King Suite was of a great size and they even managed a fun little amenity in the room upon our arrival since we were celebrating while there. The bathrooms are HUGE. Much larger than the JW. The rooms are well kept, although I did spot dust on the decor and frames of many pictures. There were also visible stains on the chaise of our room. The pool was of a good size and very clean. We visited the executive lounge upon returning from a night out and the snacks were diverse and plentiful. I would say the JW wins on the executive lounge though. The Renaissance was rather dark and closed off. No one directed us to it, either, we had to find it. Breakfast was just as well put together, and the lovely attendant was a pleasure. We did not try the in house restaurant, although the next visit may include a stop in. We would highly recommend a visit here.

Stayed here for business while visiting Delta Faucet Headquarters nearby. Beautiful public areas with bright colors and lots of seating. Employees were great with super attitudes. And just as all the other reviewers said, the food was fabulous.

We could not have been more pleased with our choice of The Renaissance for our out of town guests for our daughter's wedding. The facility is beautiful but it was the service that we received that was most memorable! In particular, at breakfast on the day of our departure, the young man working at the Stabuck's kiosk gave exemplary service to our table! He offerred everyone at our table compimentary "fancy" to-go coffee drinks and chocolate covered cookies for our travel home. He wrote nothing down, came back with the entire order, and even refused a tip saying, "No thank you---this is on us. Thank you for staying with us. It has been enjoyable to serve you." I have never hugged a server from a coffe kiosk before. Our guests who we had breakfast, with were blown away by this extension of generosity and kindness. I know none of us will son forget this. The other thing that I appreciated was the three computers in the business center. I don't travel with my computer--one of the last hotels that we stayed at in Chicago (not in the Marriot system) charged for internet use by the minute! Love being part of the Marriot Rewards System---best decisio we have made in a long time for our travel needs.

My wife is handicapped and needs a scooter to travel in. The room she had was nicely designed for a handicapped person. And there were almost too many pillows! What Impressed me the most was the restaurant. I expected standard hotel food, but the filet my wife had and the sea bass that I had were some of the best we have ever had in Indy. And, just as important to us, the side dishes were impeccable as well.

OK, the rooms ain't cheap and neither was the meal. But, we have spent as much or more at local steakhouses in Indianapolis and have not had any better meal. For a hotel restaurant this was almost astonishing.

Room Tip: The handicap rooms are nicely appointed, the bathroom had hand holds in the right places, there was...

The Renaissance is located in Carmel just north of Indy. Downtown is a straight shot south on Meridian Street, a pretty nice drive. First thing is the front desk employees’ outstanding attitude towards guests, friendly and very helpful. Check-in was a breeze, no waiting (it was pretty busy). Secondly, the room was very clean, spacious and the bed was comfortable. Did I mention that the room was very clean? We traveled quite a bit this summer and finding clean rooms has been a real issue, but not for this quick overnight. The TV had plenty of channels and a clear picture, just wish it were a bit bigger but I’m spoiled.
We didn’t eat at the restaurant since we had plans to go to a local place you should all try- Jersey’s Cafe. You won’t be sorry!
You can’t go wrong staying here; we’ll be back whenever we spend a weekend in Indy.
