We stayed at the Coral Hotel, Athens for 3 days 2 nights in Aug 07 as part of a tour package in Greece. The hotel is conveniently located – easily accessible by trams, public buses and airport express bus X96 that bring you to the hotel at Euro 3.20 (much cheaper than taxis) from the airport. Though advertised on the hotel website as “All rooms have private balconies, many of which have a view of the sea”, we didn’t have a private balcony and were given a backyard view of an apartment nearby to the hotel. It was probably a good thing as we were then away from the traffic noise – you must know that the hotel is situated right on a very busy road. The room was tired – peeling wall paint and there was a strange smell coming from the room carpet. It didn’t feel clean and look clean to me. The toilet was small but adequately equipped with toiletries, no coffee / tea coffee making facilities in the room. The hotel is near to a shopping square with restaurants / cafes, banks and a supermarket. We thought this hotel served the best breakfast buffet with large variety of choices, drinks etc. Nice beach just right opposite the hotel. Overall it was an okay stay for us.
