This is a nice Hilton. Very clean and smells fresh. The room was spotless and roomy. Nice furnishings. Bathroom was also spotless and spacious. Hot tub is fabulous and location is great! Hurt a stones throw from eateries and shops. I would definitely stay here again. More
The Hilton Garden Inn in Bloomington, Indiana is a great place to stay. The location is perfect, right in the heart of downtown and close to IU. The Inn is very clean and well maintained. The staff was very courteous and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed at the hotel this week and the downtown location is great. Parking is available in the garage behind the hotel for $6 a day. The hotel will provide you with a card to allow you to come and go. Don’t pay the garage as the hotel will add the fee to your bill. When you leave, swipe the card to open the gate and leave the card in a little box next to the reader. Parking on the street appears to be highly regulated so the garage is a nice option. As I normally travel to large cities charging $6 for parking does not seem unreasonable but if I had paid a really high room rate I feelings may be different. If you have a large vehicle the garage is a bit "tight".
Lots of things within walking distance. As others have said, the hotel books up during IU events and the rates go up too. You may need to book two nights at peak times to get availability.

I didn't get the room I booked far in advance. Booked a room with queen beds and received a room with a king bed and a roll a way that looked like it had been slept in. An adjustment was made after I crabbed but it should have been more. Also, parking should be included in the price. After all, Bloomington isn't Chicago. They do it cause they can get away with it.

We just stayed there this past weekend. First impressions: We loved the style.. it's beautifully decorated, very modern and clean. The keurig is a nice touch in the rooms. Walking to IU and the restaurants & shops around the square is a fabulous bonus. There is a small pool and hot tub (although this is only open til 10pm.. kind of early, esp in a college town. We were sort of disappointed to not be able to use it after a long day at a wedding).
We would stay here again. Few things that I didn't love:
For being such a nice hotel, it didn't even have a small breakfast included (there was coffee in the lobby).
There aren't any coke machines and to get a drink you can pick one up in the lobby fridge/store and charge it to the room. I found out later it was $5 for a 20oz bottle of soda and $5 for a snickers ice cream bar. Ridiculous.
The $6/day parking should be waived as a hotel guest as well. At any hotel in town you would park for free in their lot. This is not downtown Indy or Chicago.
Overall it's a lovely hotel, the front desk staff was pleasant every single time we spoke with them and it was very quiet. We would stay there again.

Our breakfast is not complimentary but is an all you can eat full hot buffet including made to order items such as omelets, poached eggs, french toast, etc. I also agree that we are not in downtown Indianapolis, or Chicago, however we do not own our parking garage, the city has allowed us to use it and to offer our guests a discount by getting a key card at the desk.

Nice hotel, well located to the city center. Walking distance to all the restaurants and University campus. Hotel has a Restaurant and bar on the premises. Parking is $6 a night and in a remote garage. Space is very tight if you have a large SUV!
