Easy booking and helpful staff. The rooms are beautifully designed, affordable, comfortable, and spotless. The location is great, particularly if you are visiting IUB. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

Room Tip: The walnut room is spacious and has a wonderful view of town.

Decided to stay at the walnut street inn for our wedding night. The room was clean and had a nice decor, especially if you appreciate wood. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We felt right at home. Our bathroom was relatively roomy which is always nice. And though right on the square we could barely hear the noise outside. As a bonus the hotel is so centrally located we easily walked to the chapel on campus about 5 minute walk or so. It was a great place to start our marriage off. Wouldn't have done it any different.

Very nice and clean place, confortable bed for a good price; right in front of the main square, you can see it from the walnut room. Close to most of B-town's bars & pubs and restaurants. Highly recommended

Nice little place right on the main square. Windows looking out at the fall colors. Friendly staff. I would stay here again. Try the walnut room, on a corner with more windows. They honor gov. rate for IND.

Room Tip: Walnut room is on a corner. more windows.

I was in Bloomington after 28 years for a high school reunion. I wanted to stay in a place that would be memorable enough to remain in my mind as part of this wonderful college town I called home for almost 10 years, and close enough to the Hilton Garden Inn. I came upon this unique inn via a Bloomington visitors website and was hesitant about booking a place with no Tripadvisor reviews which come in handy during my travel plans.
We arrived late afternoon and after a few minutes, someone greeted us at the street entrance. The inn consists of 4 rooms, all different in size and decor. Parking is offered in the back alley. You must walk a long flight of wooden stairs to reach rooms and there is another entrance i the back, closest to the yoga room and kitchen. Although the yoga teachers seemed to be on vacation during our stay, the yoga room with its smooth wooden floors mke this place delightful and unique even if you are not into yoga. There is a fully equipped kitchen you can use as long as you don´t interfere with the yoga classes (none during our stay so this was not an issue). We stayed 4 nights, bought a few groceries and cooked breakfast and some dinners with no problem. There is a small bar and a living room next to the kitchen with a TV.
Our room was very spaciuos, the bathroom similar to a 4-5 star hotel as far as thick, crisp towels and amenities. They will give you wonderful 100% natural soap bars with refreshing scents that were different every day. Everything very clean. We had a queen bed and a futon for our 7 year old son. Room faced the street but we did not find it noisy because of the window unit A/C and maybe because college students were still on vacation during our stay in early August! Doors to the inn and to your room will be with punch-code locks. Flat screen TV. and an in-room coffee machine although with access to the kitchen we did not use anything in the room.
The inn is directly across of the courthouse and within walking distance to famous night spots in B--ton like Nick´s and the Bluebird, and dining options were ample. We tried El Norteno, a mexican restaurant a block away, which was fascinating and service was outstanding.
When we checked out, there was no one at the front desk but then again, there are no room keys to turn in. Keep this in mind when you check in --make sure to let them know a day ahead what time you plan to arrive..the had sent us an email the day before to confirm this, which means that sometimes there will not be anyone in charge of the front desk for check-ins or check outs.
This place met my standards overall, as it succeeded in making my stay in B-ton memorable and unique. I will look forward to reserving a room in this beautiful place when I return someday!

Trendy little place nestled above the downtown streets of Bloomington. Clean and uniquely decorated. Very few rooms. Seems to be a gathering place for yoga classes with shared availability of kitchen dependent on whether or not class is scheduled. I did not look around a ton so my experience is based on limited observation. It is air conditioned but also has a window unit. We were on street side so the conversations of groups of young people came and went into the early hours! We did not turn the AC on so perhaps that would have dampened the occasionally raucous crowd passing. The entrance to the upper level inn is a door with a punch-code lock. The front desk is not manned round-the-clock. I liked staying here. My husband and I shared a queen with a futon available for my daughter. Steps to second level would be a hardship for some and the creaking stairs give away your arrival. Liked the location with great restaurants within walking distance. Parking in alley behind building that is tight but what one expects in college town. It is a bit out of the ordinary but, I stress, clean and welcoming.

Room Tip: Perhaps room off street side would be quieter.
