I'd heard a lot of good things about this restaurant so my mother and I went for brunch recently. It was really not what we had expected at all. The brunch was a small buffet and almost everything on it was cold. The miniature muffins were obviously made from a mix. The salad bar consisted of a large bowl of lettuce and some toppings - not very appealing. There was an omelette station which, if you go for brunch, i recommend that you take advantage of. I was surprised that the restaurant doesn't seem to use any of the wonderful produce available at the Bloomington Famer's Market, nor buy from the many good bakeries in the area.
We won't be going back anytime soon, if ever. It's too bad that our brunch experience left us unwilling to try lunch or dinner. Given the other reviews of this restaurant, I am wondering if we caught them on a bad day?
There is a lot of road work going on in Bloomington right now and it makes for slow going if you are returning to Bloomington from Chapman's.
