Service was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. Awesome Bloody Mary's. Our group had pasta, pot roast and 2 different fish dishes. Would love to go there again sometime.

“Casual Gourmet”
Reviewed August 6, 2013

After hiking the dunes we stopped into Bartlett's for a bloody mary & lunch. Very nice surprise! The beer selection was great (even had our STL local Schlafly). The bloody mary's were chock full of garnishes-even venison meat! Our group split oysters which were tasty and my lake perch taco had quite a kick to it. Our group said the burgers were good too. We'll be back!

“Special Food at Reasonable Prices”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

They're not kidding about the "gourmet" aspect of the food at this informal, welcoming spot near the Indiana Dunes. The food is unpretentious but delicious and servings ample.

“Second chance”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

Had the veg burgers, fries, beer. Better than average. Buns aren't very good so we didn't eat them. They were out of the local beer on tap. Staff seemed like they were sleep-walking through their shift. Waiter asked if we were still working on it. Let's retire that question.

“Best Place Around!”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

If you asked me for the BEST PLACE for lunch or dinner around Beverly Shores, I would recommend Bartlett's. But, that is only because it is the ONLY place near! When the present owners got the old Joe's Bar at this location, and redid everything and opened BARTLETT's we were more than HAPPY!!! They spent something north of 1/2 million to buy and remodel and take it up to code, etc... This was something that was special, and it is!!! But, things that are designed to be great do not always turn out to be that!
The owners have turned off to this place and left it drift into something that is not what they wanted or that their reputation demands! The menu is weird the service is less than good and the prices for items are not commensurate to the quality or the item!!
We have been at Bartlett's now more than six times. But, we do not go anymore, regardless of the number of cars in the parking lot! The last few times we went, was only for a Bloody Mary, but that became old, when we realized that we were paying $8.00 per! Plus TIP!!!
My girl friend loves Calamari ($9) that she described as a serving of OLD TIRES!!! I had Bartlett's Pot Roast Sandwich ($11). Yes, thanks, I did eat the French Fries, the sandwich was, to say the least was not good! Most everything is so WIERD that it hurts. The Pecan Crusted Whitefish Filet could be dog meat! Most things are not prepared properly and I totally agree with the other reviews that this place need to change the MENUE and offer like REAL BURGERS, like REAL FOOD, cut the tootyy froody food selections and offer some REAL FOOD that they can make and have people come back, just for the FOOD!!!
Also, they should really check on the behavior of the STAFF, not only at the SERVICE end, but in the KITCHEN as well!!!!
Sorry for this review, but, what else will help them back to being GREAT!!!
