I was going diving with my dive buddy on the SS President Coolidge and looking for accomodation (flights were already booked and the dive operator decided). My dive buddy had to pull out, but I decided I was going anyway and wanted to stay somewhere where there was likely to be a few people about and food/beverage facilities.. Aore IS an island requiring a 10 minute boat ride to get to.
So I chose to stay at Aore Island Resort. I was absolutely smitten with this resort. Very friendly owners and staff, nothing too much trouble and there to help you have the best experience you can.
I was in a Bure along the beach away from the main Nakamal where the restaurant, bar and kitchen are (and massage/beauty clinic if you want it). Only a short walk. Some family rooms were available in the other direction.
The place is so idyllic, kayaks to row about on, snorkel from the beach over a protected reef. Fish life there is amazing. It was about 24 hours after I finished work and travelled here that I was so totally relaxed and at peace.
If you want lots of action, people, sound - you need to go elsewhere. This place is a haven and I'm only back home for 3 weeks, trying to work out how to get back to Aore ASAP!!

Thank you deansmatrix for your great review of our property, and also for choosing to stay with us during your diving holiday. We are very pleased your time with us met your expectations of a South Pacific holiday, and that you went home totally relaxed. With the SS President Coolidge being such a fantastic dive site, we sincerely hope you will return for more diving, and relaxation on Aore. Thank you again for staying with us.

AORE ISLAND RESORT, ESPIRITU SANTO, VANUATU
Espiritu Santo is the largest island and in the north of the Vanuatu group. We spent four days at the lovely resort of Aore Island which is just off the coast of Luganville. We loved it so much that we tried to extend our stay here but unfortunately it wasn’t possible. The community building of the resort is absolute beach front and houses the bar, kitchen and dining/lounge area – spacious and very comfortable. Meals were excellent and varied, service was first-class and the staff very knowledgable and friendly. Our faré was also on the beachfront overlooking the stretch of sea between Aore and the mainland. I would definitely recommend this resort if you are going to Espiritu Santo, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

Room Tip: Rooms are individual chalets on absolute beachfront

Thank you wendhmagz for your fantastic review; but more importantly for choosing to stay with us. We are very pleased that you enjoyed the amenities and location of the resort, and found the staff and meals to be of high service (we feel they are the best in Vanuatu). Thank you again for choosing us, and we sincerely hope we may meet you again on Aore.

If you want night life & a vibrant resort - stay away.
If you want peace & quiet, relaxation & a total chill out, this is your place.
We stayed in a beachfront studio which was great. Fully screened with good airflow, kept us nice & cool when we weren't lazing in the hammock on the beach or snorkeling in front of the bure. The bungalow is basic, no TV, radio, clock, wifi or aircon and did we miss these things, not at all. As I say this is where you go to relax, not to just transpose our normal busy lives to a prettier location than home.

In between the hard work of lazing by the beach and snorkeling etc off we went to the Nakamal for fantastic fresh meals. Meals were not stupidly expensive, we (a couple) spent a bit over $800 Aust for 7 days of meals and drinks. We only had one or 2 drinks with dinner. Typically the more expensive meal options were around 3000 Vatu ($36 AUD)

The resort is immaculately groomed and our room, whilst showing its age, was spotless. Our room was done up daily by efficient friendly ladies who obviously take pride in their work.

We found all of the staff to be friendly and professional. They could not do enough to assist with any request. Organising day trips was a breeze. All of our day trips were paid directly to the relevant service provider, even though we organised through the resort. This was good as we knew we were not being ripped by the addition of a resort fee.

Upon arrival you are met by the owners, Brad & Lisa, who explain a bit about the resort & where things are, then escort you to your bungalow. After this you constantly see them around doing all sorts of bits & pieces around the resort.

It should be noted that all of the staff speak highly of the owners & appear to genuinely enjoy working here.

SWMBO has already informed me that we are returning to this place.

Room Tip: Go beachfront, it is worth it.

Tankyu tumus Suparat for your very thorough & positive review of our resort; but more importantly, thank you for choosing to stay with us. We consider our staff to be the best in Vanuatu; a high claim, which becomes more evident when guests stay with us, and is again verified in your review. You seem to have embraced perfectly, what Aore Resort is about; raw luxury, relaxation, and a chance to break away from the bonds of the stressful lives of the other world in which guests live. Thank you again, and we hope we may see you on a return visit.

What a fabulous 5 night holiday we had at Brad and Lisa's Aore Island Resort.
The staff were so obliging and happy , nothing was too much trouble.
The food was always great and the accommodation was good and cleaned daily.
The resort was spotless , the snorkelling magical and you couldn't help but relax staring out over the Azure waters between Aore and Luganville. Fresh breakfast daily which included fresh coffee from a local supplier around the corner and bread cooked in house.
The staff also arranged for a meal on the Jetty before we left , so lovely.
The weather in August is perfect , around 28 degrees with only a touch of humidity.
A must stay resort if you are considering a vacation in Vanuatu.
My wife and I can't wait to return.

Beautiful resort with very comfortable and large rooms. The food is wonderful with choices ranging from AUD$7 at every meal with the average main around AUD $28. The owners are lovely and have done a great job designing and furnishing the resort. The people who worked there were so kind, happy, relaxed and efficient. The spa services were amazing. We will definitely be back for a longer visit next time!
