We go to Green Town a lot and have not had a bad meal or time yet! Their Nachos are awesome, so are the wraps. If you're in the mood for bar food and a fun atmosphere, Green Town is it! And, they do have a good selection of beers..The only negative thing is it can get chilly in there in the winter because of the door being opened a lot, so just bring a sweater or sweatshirt to put on.

The best beer selection downtown! Awesome drinks! And superior service with a smile every time!

Burgers that are to die for! If they are offering a speciality burger I highly recommend trying it! Love their salads, chicken sandwiches, clubs, homemade onion rings and homemade mozzarella sticks, heck anything I've ever ordered has been fresh and delicious!

Fun place to catch an awesome band! Or just chill and relax. Love green town tavern!!

We picked this friendly place for a quick supper before an event at the near-by landmark Genessee Theater. It was a wonderful (if noisy) experience. Patrons included extended family gatherings with children, bar regulars and first-time drop ins. All were treated with warmth and prompt attention. Our reasonably-priced salads were large, fresh and delicious. The beer selection was broad and the recommended draft beer (after we stated our general taste range) was perfect. We went off to the theater feeling very welcomed to Waukegan.

If you are ever in the town of Waukegan this is a must place to visit. Nestled in the downtown area amongst an ever evolving art district. Located in the famous Harbor Place building is a little place called Green Town tavern which was named after Ray Bradbury's fictitious name for Waukegan which was a town included in many of the authors books. The atmosphere has a local theme with photos and and visual displays showing the history and the beauty of Waukegan. The food has an all American flare that includes a freshly made Italian Beef that has Chicago in every bite and a selection of Burgers that are also made fresh. Wraps and salads are also on the menu for the healthy side. They also serve a Saturday Breakfast that is not for the lite eater. Their traditional breakfast includes eggs and choices of ham, bacon or sausage that is also fresh and is included in rather large servings to satisfy even the most intense appetite. Friday's include a Fish dinner on the menu which will satisfy a Northern Illinois, Southern Wisconsin tradition. Choices of Perch or Cod with a generous amount of fries included. The fish menu includes a Grilled Tuna Steak which is also included in a wrap or salad form. The drinks at Green Town are also a local and regional favorite due to variety. They include a wide selection of Craft beers as well as Pabst Blue Ribbon a local fad favorite as well as many other Domestic beers. If wine is your choice they can also satisfy your need with a few house whites and reds. So if you are in town for a show at the mighty Genesee Theater or just happen to pass through, stop by and enjoy a little taste of Waukegan and I am sure you may be back with friends.
