We dined with our family of 12 soon after Christmas 2013. Despite the bitter cold weather in Chicago area the temperature on the charming "porch" area was warm and cozy. Food was excellent, varied and all our diners were happy with their choices. This was our second time dining there and we chose it again because we were very happy with our first experience. Service was excellent and Holiday ambiance delightful. We were happy for a quiet place to visit with family members that we don't see often. Highly recommend this restaurant.

This place has pretty good food. The pork tenderloin was very good and the waiter accommodated my dietary restrictions. I would come here again as the setting is very nice as well. The only issue I had was the parking. However, my overall experience was good for the price point

This is another our favorite restaurants. The acoustics are great and one feels this is a place where one can visit without feeling like one has to keep talking louder and louder so as to be heard. The white table cloths, candles, great service, and exceptionally good food puts this restaurant as one of our top choices to dine. Only one negative casted a shadow on our last visit. We were seated on the porch, the temperature outside was HOT, and the room was uncomfortably warm. We would be sure not to seat in that area on our next visit. One wonders if it would be quite cold in the winter what with all the large windows.

Half way between our homes, we meet several times a year at this long-time Italian eatery that was once a coach stop between Chicago and Milwaukee, we think. With well made pre-dinner drinks, a full Italian wine list and promise of home made pasta and sauces just like my mom's from friendly and efficient wait staff, it is a place for quiet conversation on the enclosed porch or in one of the many small dining rooms. We like the upstairs for its extra quiet that allows for extended catch up on family news.

No surprises this night. Trustworthy tilapia, chicken and veal parmesan, sausage and peppers plus ample sides of roasted potatoes, garlic/lemon spinach, and pastas of choice, chased with a robust Chianti Classico and ended with just right-sized soft gelato selections. I do love the raspberry gelato, second only to that I found on Venice’s Lido. As usual, a consistently wonderful Italian comfort food dinner for a good price.

Our visit to Philly G's. We were a party of 4 & no one was disappointed with the food. The service was more than prompt...actually a little too fast. From the front desk to the waitress, everyone was 'neighborhood' friendly.' Wanting something light, I ordered the evening's special which was a halibut & I was not disappointed. The fried calamari was light & crisp & not drowning in batter. The bolognaise sauce was "the best ever," one in our party commented. Notably, there was no food left on anyone's plate when we finished. If you are looking for 'haute' Italian cuisine, this isn't the place to go. If you want good basic Italian food, reasonably priced, Philly G's is a good choice. The upstairs décor could be updated.
