The Coach & Horses Inn
Reviewed April 13, 2014

stopped in for a meal a few days before mother's day as a present to my mum, we both thoroughly enjoyed our food, my mum had the hake off the specials board and i had a sirloin steak, came out perfectly cooked and filled us up completely, decided to have the creme brulee for dessert, tasted amazing but struggled to eat it due to being full up, would highly recommend coming here to anyone as the staff were very kind and helpful and the environment was very calming and comforting, five stars from me!

We were transferred here from another hotel which double booked but we got lucky I think. Friendly, welcoming staff. Spotless and comfortable room. Excellent breakfast. Restaurant full on a Sat night so clearly popular but we were unaware so had booked elsewhere but would have been happy to have dinner there. Thank you for turning a disaster courtesy of Booking.com into a very pleasant experience. Recommended :)

Stopped here for lunch en route to The Crazy Bear where we were staying overnight. The staff were all attentive, smiley and had a sense of humour. The food is tremendous, delicious home made (rather than bought in and home heated up!), plentiful and good value. It was good honest British hospitality at its best. I wish we had stayed the night here rather than at the Crazy Bear which, although the food was good (although quite expensive), was all a bit pretentious and "all fur coat no knickers" if you know what I mean. Would definitely stay here next time instead.

Room Tip: Make sure you book a table as this place is deservedly busy.

This is one of the most friendliest pubs / B&B's I've stayed in. The rooms were immaculate, comfy and warm. The staff were really kind and went the extra mile to make sure you had a good stay. We actually ate at the Crazy Bear (this pub is walking distance) but the food at the pub looked really good too and the restaurant was booked out on a Friday night. Strongly recommend this place.

The Coach and Horses is an great place to stay and very close to Raymond Blanc's Cookery School should you be attending a cookery course the next day and are looking for a place to stay beforehand that's more suited to the limitations of a post-Christmas, January budget! A very friendly Inn on quite a busy road, but which didn't matter as the Inn was full of life in the evening and the bedrooms are situated at the back of the property. Rooms very clean and adequately furnished. Green security light on the ceiling a bit distracting, but that's my only criticism. Food in the restaurant was varied and very good quality.

This restaurant is well worth going to, the food is exciting and varied. All the staff are polite, welcoming and helpful.
We go here quite a lot even though we have pubs in our village, we prefer to drive to the Coach and Horses.

We arrived to attend a wedding nearby, the Landlord David, was extremely helpful and welcoming, even to the point of arranging a lovely staff member to drive us to the wedding when there were no cabs available ! our room was very clean, with everything you'd need to relax and sleep soundly in the extremely comfortable bed, we would not hesitate to stay here again if we were in the area.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 6...really comfy bed
