We took a last minute planned afternoon drive along the backroads to take in the scenery. This isn't our first visit and won't be the last...planning a possible over-night stay this coming weekend! The country-side is so much prettier and enteratining than the Interstate if time allows. For us it was quicker! Be sure to check your GPS or MapQuest. We made it to the main lodge area with plans to go eat elsewhere. Wish we had come back and lingered more since our plans fell through. Stil the evening drive was just beautiful. We didn't go to any of the rocks or waterfall areas...just enjoyed the ride and drive. Whatever and all you decide to take it it's all worth the trip!

This is the most beautiful park and they have an amazing historical museum. We really enjoyed learning more about the park and The American Native Indians and the critters around there. This is a MUST to see.
We spent the night at the large and amazing lodge. The pool and hot tub was fantastic. The great hall has a huge wood burning fireplace as well as the dinning area. After a great supper and excellent service from our waitress we just sit in the great hall and relaxed in the dim lighting. It was so relaxing and many people sit reading books and enjoying the atmosphere.
It was very cold out that night, but the warmth of the lodge, and the warmth of the staff made it perfect. We retired to our cozy room, (which was very resonable), and we sunk down in the most comfortable bed I've ever been in. I fell and stayed asleep so fast and slept so long, which was something I hadn't done in years. I even got a great hat at the gift shop, that I just loved. it. Thank you all for such a great stay. We'll be back.
