I've been on the Golden Circle Tour twice. It is a must see. This tour gives you a good taste of the history of Iceland. But more fascinating than that is the geologic features. You get to witness the separation of the tectonic plates. Pingvellir is especially humbling.

leaving the city from our cruise ship Saga Ruby by coach for an 8 hour tour of the main attractions. The Gundfoss falls and the geyser fields nearby, most of the time is being driven through rugged scenery with stops at Gundfoss plus at least a couple of hundred other visitors to this well photographed area then on to the geyser fields for lunch and an hour wandering around watching the geyser go off every 8 minutes.then back on the coach to for another couple of hours to another falls and back to ship.
A very tiring day a sense of humour is needed and plenty of loo stops.

Eight hours of one spectacular site to another with a great driver and guide. Will recommend this if you are arriving by ship

I used Greyline and they were excellent. It is worth doing to see the scale of the landscope which is very dramatic at times. The Atlantic rift is amazing to see how the earth is being ripped apart with a huge gauge in the earth's crust, with North America one side and Europe on the other. The Golden Waterfalls are magnificent and the Geysirs are amazing shooting boiling hat water 80m into the air. A trip not be missed.

I know, it's a classic and everyone does it but its the best way to see around Iceland when you only have an overnight. We loved it and that tomatoe grower was great to visit, just to see the family working it! And the bees or course. Make sure to have good walking shoesmformthe geyser section and the falls. Go out walking, it's worth the view! Don't expect too much from the guide, she was boring but the outdoors spoke by themselves!
