“Japanese garden and St Fiachra's garden”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2014

The Japanese garden is quite beautiful but be careful not to get locked in at closing time. We nearly did! St Fiachra's garden is a modern interpretation with references to Ireland's ancient past, again lovely but in a completely different way from the Japanese garden.

“CIE Jewels of Ireland Tour”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 7, 2013

We had a nice tour of the grounds with a very knowledgable guide. Unfortunately our visit was in September when only the stallions were there. The mares had all gone home with their foals. The Japanese Garden was very nice and great for beautiful photos.

“Beautiful place to visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 6, 2013

The National Stud is a wonderful day out and well worth a visit, especially for children. It's an opportunity to see some of the most top quality horses up close and if you visit at the right time of year, you can often see the new foals in their enclosure, a wonderful sight.

“"Knightsbridge for horses?"”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 4, 2013

What a lovely setting. The facilities for horses are truly excellent. We stood at the fence of the "Living Champions" in which there were 4 horses grazing on the far side on very lush grass.Whistled and the 4 of them came galloping towards us..one was the prior winner of our Melbourne Cup, Vintage Crop and it was great to see him and the other highly regarded horses. The stick sculturs around the place are very interestig and the gardens beautifully serene.
For people who love horses, this is a must see..only the threat of missing our plane from Dublin an hour or so away prevented us from spending more time there(Including the excellent gift shop)

“Horses and Gardens”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2013

The Irish National Stud is a tranquil place to visit set in lush green pastures with the added attraction of the Japanese Gardens,St Fichras Garden and Horse Museum. Each of these is well worth a visit in its own right. One can spend hours here enjoying the relaxing atmosphere and when finished you can enjoy refreshments in the coffee shop. If in KIldare put this on your list of must visit.
