I've stayed here many times while travelling on business. The hotel always has a clean and well maintained appearence along with good customer service from the front-desk staff.

We stayed here for a few days in April before meeting up with family (Hubbys) in Lafayette IN..

The staff were SO friendly... Even bringing more pillows in the middle of the night... They were helpful at 2am while we were heavily jet lagged, and told us the local shops that were open so we could go out..

The receptionist was very pregnant when we went, and was always happy, smiling and couldn't help enough.. She was also wonderful with our Autistic son..

The hotel itself was clean and tidy, and had all the things you need (HUGE beds) a pool, gym, and an all you can eat breakfast that was OUT OF THIS WORLD.... We tried all the food they had over the few days and it was well cooked, tasted AMAZING and the options were a joy.. All this and you could make your own waffles..

It's close to one of the biggest malls in middle America, and the shops are massive. Plus you can drive (or tube) into Chicago and have an amazing time..

We will be staying with the Drury again next time we go to America (they are mostly in middle & southern America)..

I stayed for an extended weekend to experience Chicago close up. The hotel has friendly concierge service making checking in and out a breeze. 60 minutes free long distance, free DSL or wireless Internet are just a few of the great extras offered by this hotel. The rooms are average size but comfortably equipped. The insualtion could be a little better between rooms, as you may be easily disturbed by a noisy neighbor. The breakfast bar is beyond the usual standard, staffed and ready for special requests. It's a great money saver making the daily start easier for leisure and business travelers. Being conveniently located to Woodfield Mall and other restaurants is a big plus. You do need to bring extra time for the into downtown commute. It takes good 45 - 60 minutes, depending on what is going on in Chicago. But again, the hotel and it's rate make easily up for this inconvenience.

I work in a nearby corporation, so I end up staying in hotels in Schaumburg area quite often. So far, I've stayed in the Marriott (on Matingale), Embassy Suites, Holiday Inn, and Hawthorne Suites.

Of these, Drury Inn seems to be the best bargain.

My rate was $80/night. The cheapest was the Hawthorne Suites at $109, with the most expensive being Embassy Suites ($169). Holiday Inn was actually around $90, but I would definitely advise against it, as the quality of the room was subpar (threadbare carpetting, squeaky mattresses, low-quality furnishing).

For the price, you get free high-speed Internet connection and free hot breakfast. The Internet connection was not as fast as a DSL or cable modem, but it was definitely better than dial-up. Hot breakfast was a small buffet consisting of scrambled eggs, sausages, french toast and miscellaneous continental breakfast items. It also had a waffle maker, which I didn't use, but I thought was a nice touch.

There's nothing special about the room. Not four star quality, of course, but definitely not Econo Lodge level. Nice furnishing, spacious and useful bathroom layout, decent sized work desk and plenty of lighting. The only bad thing was a rather skimpy mattress.

Any hotels in Schaumburg area has decent access to shopping and restaurants. Drury Inn has an advantage that you can walk to many of these places. It's just a parking lot across from Benegan's, Denny's and Wendy's; it's across the street from Streets of Woodfield with movie theater, Starbucks, Chipotle, etc., and it's 1/2 mile away from Woodfield Mall.

If you're not worried about accumulating frequent stay program points in large chains and if you're under a budget constraint, Drury Inn would be a good, solid bet.
