Cristiano Bassani, the native of Bergamo and chef and owner of many top rated Italian restaurants in Chicago area, embraced on a new venture…gourmet hamburgers.

The restaurant is located in a small strip center with plenty of parking and relatively easy to get to. It is near Woodfield, one of the largest shopping centers.

Newly remodeled restaurant with open kitchen and bar has the feeling of simple but pleasant Italian restaurant. Atmosphere is pleasant and conversation friendly. The Chef, owner is on the premises. Service is prompt and attentive.

The ½ lb. hamburgers are served on crisp regular, onion, pretzel or whole wheat buns. The beef
is Angus, freshly ground and hormone free. The only exceptions is Big Chef Burger which is one pounder, the "hungry man" version that can feed one or "whatever"!

Beside regular topping, the Chef tinkers with few boutique toppings such truffle oil, egg, shrimp,
fresh buffalo mozzarella, Tarragon mayo, etc.

The selections burgers are truffle, Italian Spicy, Bacon, Cheeseburger, veggie burger, plus sliders. The toppings are too many to list. Prices are between 8 and 10 Dollars.

Ala carte sides are French and sweet potatoes fries, chips, onion rings, mashed potatoes and cole slaw. They are $3.50.

In addition, the menu offers eight hand tossed 12 inch, pizzas baked in wood owen. They are true Napolitano thin crust pizzas, with typical various Italian traditional toppings.

Caesar, house, Lentil and Spinach salads are available as main entries.

Deserts, along the Italian lines, are well prepared as well 4 shakes. In addition to non-alchoholic drinks, there is an extensive beer list of draft and bottled beers. The wine list is limited, with good selections and reasonably priced.

Look for daily specials!

Bottom line, if you are in the area passing or shopping …don't miss it.
