My husband was attending a convetion at the hotel and I tagged along. Very nice atmosphere, loved the decor. Our room was handicapped, but it was very large and loved the TV in the bathroom mirror! Scared me at first! Beds are comfortable and personnel very courteous. Close shopping ... mall and Ikea. I would definately stay here again. One thing to mention though, is the parking lot is a little bit of a walk, so if you have bad weather, I would keep that in mind.

Just returned from a one night getaway to this Renaissance. We had a great time and would not hesitate to say there again. The hotel is only a few miles from Arlington Park which makes it very convenient if you are spending a day at the Park. It is also within a very short driving distance of a Lou Malnatis pizzeria.

The hotel staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. At check in, the woman at the front desk actually walked us over to the elevators, explaining the various facets of the hotel, restaurant opening times etc. We had a drink in the bar before dinner and were served by one of friendliest bartenders we've had in a long time.

Finally, the room itself was very nice and very clean. Great choice if you are in the area.

I stayed at this hotel twice the last 2 months. Obviously, it is a beautiful hotel. The rooms are nice, the lobby is beautiful and the lounge is spacious.

Apparently, the Village of Schaumburg owns this hotel and the convention center. Marriott manages it.

One major issue to consider is the parking - especially staying here in the winter. It is a walk to the parking lot and the downward draft from the building is brutal. So, keep that in mind for winter stays.

The lounge is beautiful. The evening food and dessert are great. You can tell they put thoughts into it, unlike the near by Marriott. However, I do have a issue with their breakfast offering. For some reason, they either don't have skim milk or have it in a huge jar. Other types of milk are available in individual bottles.

Another thing I find strange for the breakfast is they have plenty of tiny dishes of fruits cut to small pieces but they either don't serve or run out of the larger pieces of pre-cut fruits. In the morning, I just want to get my fruits in large chunks and don't really care for these tiny pieces...

Sometimes I see new plates and utensils the lounge uses sitting outside in the hallway. I guess the lounge kitchen is too small to keep all the stuff? It is unsighty for the 14th floor and probably some kind of health code violation.

The bathroom mirror has a TV in it but the TV is not clear a lot of the time.

I walk the stairs to the lounge and have found people leaving glass and junk (probably when they smoke in the stairway) that are not cleaned up for days.

The hotel's clock (the time that is displayed in the elevator and on some TV channels) is about 7 minutes slower than the actual time. I actually reported it when I stayed there a few weeks ago. It was still not fixed when I returned a few weeks later and it looks like it is 8 minutes slower. Thus, the interesting title of the review :-)

So, in summary, beautiful hotel with minor imperfections. Keep in mind about the long winter walk to the car.

Room Tip: South side faces I-90 so North side is probably quieter.

Overall, Great Stay! Work meeting was the reason for this visit. Great Aveda shampoos and a mini TV in the bathroom! Not enough space around the sink for toiletries, but a minor inconvenience. Ask for a room above the lobby atrium floors so you don't get noise from the bar area. Comfy beds!

Room Tip: Ask for a room above the floors that overlook the atrium/lobby (think floor 4 or above, but check) i...

I have stayed at this property two times now in the past year. I always find my experience to be positive.
I enjoy the concierge floor however, the little things-seem to make the largest impression on me.
Like the wire basket in the bathroom for the wet towels--what a nice feature rather than just tossing them on the floor.
I also like the wood cubes in the bathroom for the hair dryer, extra towels etc. What a great touch! Feels like something you would have in a home.
The closet doors are even nice vs. the typical bi fold doors scene in most hotels---they are actually doors with nice hardware.
Room service was speedy and the choc cake was just what I needed at 10pm.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone needing a great nights rest in the west burbs....
location is great and parking is convenient.
GM, Lisa Timbo is awesome!! A true leader in the hospitality world....

Room Tip: I love the conceirge floor--

We were immediately impressed by this suburban hotel by the grounds and greeting at the door. The check-in is quick and easy, and since it was a slower time of day, the person that checked us in showed us to the elevator and gave a quick overview of where things were in the hotel. Very nice. Comfortable, quiet rooms. We were there for our grandaughters cheerleading competition and didn't have any issues with noise. However, there was a Latin America Tupperware convention at the same time. We were a little taken back when 6-8 ladies were discussing their day loudly in the hallway after midnight. One call to the front desk and it was handled immediately. This is a good location close to O'Hare as well as Woodfield Mall and many fine restaurants. Breakfasts at the hotel were outstanding. In fact, the breakfast add-on was $10 per night and was a great value.

Room Tip: Front desk asked if you wanted to be high or low, north or south. Very accomodating to your prefere...

This property is very comfortable with lots of convention space. The décor is modern and airy. The rooms are standard size with excellent views from the top floors on either side. The room has lots of electrical outlets for many different connectors - good thinking here! For exercise, the pool and weight room both fit the bill. Having a TV in the bathroom mirror was the biggest surprise - not something you find everyday.
The hotel negatives are small. The biggest negative is that they charge $13.95/day for internet access. Since this hotel primarily caters to business customers, why can't they figure out that those customers need and expect internet access. After all, many budget hotels have free internet. Also, the TV could use more channels. You get the basic 30 or so channels, but here again budget hotels will have more. Also, there are no services within walking distance. The hotel has a shuttle to local businesses, but I feel a nice walk is best.
You'll enjoy a stay here as long as you have a car.
