Last week a group of eight of us went to Wildfire. We are all employees of American Family Insurance. The eight of us were from different states in our operating area. It was the consensus of the group that this place is a definite winner! The atmosphere is super. The decor takes you back to the laid back days of the 40's and 50's. The service was excellent particularly in view of the fact that the place was hopping....not an empty table to be had. Drinks were good and kept coming. However, the showpiece of this place is most certainly the superb food selections. My horseradish crusted filet mignon melted like soft butter in my mouth. I ordered the filet slightly more then rare. The cook prepared it right on point, it was not over-cooked. Finally, our group shared about four different desserts. I have had key lime pie at many places but the key lime at Wildfire is simply the best. The smooth tartness and creaminess of the filling was a slice of heaven, nothing less! I am dying to go back soon despite the fact that I live in Milwaukee. Keep up the great work Wildfire!!

This place is awesome! I live in the area and it is definitely one of my all time favorite restaurants. I’ve had many dishes here but my favorites are the halibut (it’s actually a seasonal special) and the 3 filet dish. Like the other poster mentioned, you get to pick three different crusts – so good! Don't forget to have dessert - but share, as portions are generous. I’ve only had a bad waiter once. Be sure to make reservations if you can as they are very busy (even during the week).

Our family just went to Wildfire for dinner. The atmosphere is truley unique. You feel as though you have traveled back in time to 1950's California and are just waiting to see the Rat Pack enter at any moment. We went with our 3 children and found the children's menu to have a good variety of choices, yet portions were very small, especially for my 11 year old son. The service was wonderful. Our server was attentive and friendly. She gave us wonderful suggestions and kept our drinks filled at all times. Now for the food...it was just O.K. Both my husband and I had the surf and turf and enjoyed the steak but thought that the lobster was too small for the price, rather tough and not sweet at all. The sides were extra and again portions were small. I have tasted better surf and turf at Red Lobster. Maybe we should have just stuck to steak alone. We would return, but only for the steak and atmosphere.
P.S. We went on a Friday night and our kids were the only kids in the restaurant. They didn't put us in a back room with them so they must not discourge families which is a positive.

My husband had loved Wildfire downtown, so we thought we'd give it a try in Schaumburg. His expectations were high, so we were a little concerned about being disappointed...but we ought not have worried. The entire experience was wonderful! The interior of the restaurant is very warm and supper-clubby. We were seated promptly (with reservations). After we were initially seated under an air-conditioning vent, the staff promptly and good-naturedly moved us to a less drafty table. I had a delish apple-tini to start, but it's really the food that grabbed me. Don't miss the mussels...they were huge, moist and tasty. Our entrees were ordered from the daily specials menu. My dish was a macadamia-crusted halibut, and it didn't disappoint. My husband had three filet medallions, each with a different crust, and his favorite was the horseradish. Even tho I was stuffed, we topped off the meal with an especially decadent bananas foster creampuff concoction. Mmm..... Sorry to ramble, but it really was a wonderful meal, great service, terrific ambience. Enjoy!
