SpringHill Suites Chicago Schaumburg/Woodfield Mall

This was our first stay at a Springhill Suites property. We were very pleased with how clean and quiet the hotel was. We found the bed to be comfortable and the room layout to be convenient. The only downside was the fact that the vanity area was quite dark, which made getting ready a bit difficult. Otherwise, everything was excellent.

Room Tip: We asked for a room on the top floor and this reduced the pool noise, the elevator noise, and the pa...

Aspirants of 4/5 star properties -- start here!!

Skip the residence inn (a tad run-down) and stay at a clean, fresh hotel with modern decor that has yet to be given the recognition it deserves! No fear of "what" is on the sofa. Socks at night? They'll be clean in the morning - carpet is that clean.

Also has two queen beds in a compact suite setting.

The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff was great. Doors aren't as thick as they could be so there was still a decent amount of hallway noise that made it's way into the room. We accidentatly left my daughters most beloved stuff toy wadded up in some of the bedding. We left the hotel at 9 AM that morning, called at 1 PM that afternoon and they were able to find the stuffed toy and have it waiting at the front desk for us when we stopped back by to pick it up at 2 PM. The breakfast was decent for free, too. It's a mix of cold food (cereal, apples, bananas, bagels, muffins, etc) with a few hot options. They have two waffle makers so you can make your own along with sausage patties and eggs (made so they can be used to make breakfast sandwiches with the bagels or english muffins available). There is also prepared oatmeal with a few limited topping options (peanuts, brown sugar and raisens i think). All in all, I think it's a good hotel and would stay there again. Lots of stuff nearby; target if you forgot something at home ikea or legoland if you're looking for something else. Lots of resteraunts of various types and cost too.

Room Tip: The pull out sofa beds are as to be expected for pull out sofa beds. Not great, but our 8 year old...

Our King Suite had a unique layout with plenty of room. HITS: comfortable bed, nice shower, quiet heater/AC unit, HDTV, easy to use wifi, multispeed ceiling fan, small micro & fridge & a decent wall between the bed & sofabed areas. MISSES: loud trash pickup outside our 2nd floor room, limited tv channels, too little light in the living room/desk/kitchen areas and too much light near the bed. Unusually dark paint in one area made things seem smaller. KUDOS to those serving breakfast to a busload of vacationing high school students as well as the rest of us in a newly remodeled, but still crowded lounge area. HINT: If you're going to have a late breakfast, the nearby IKEA cafeteria has free coffee 30 minutes before the store opens at 10am & $.99 & $1.99 breakfast specials.

Room Tip: Try and get and upper floor room

Hotel is close to great shopping and restaurants. Lobby is very modern and looks newly remodeled. Room had lots of space and very comfortable. Staff was helpful with restaurant suggestions. Would definitely recommend.

We really enjoyed the friendly service, nice pool, plentiful breakfast and reasonable rates. We spent several hours with the grandkids in the pool and ate at several of the restaurants at Woodfield. We also did some shopping at the Disney store and would have done Legoland but ran out of time. It was fun for the four of us. I would definitely choose the Marriott's SpringHill Suites in Schaumburg to do this again.

I must say that I really enjoy staying at any Marriott property. This hotel was no exception. Large clean room with a large sofa and small kitchen to make it better than a standard hotel room. The breakfast is great and the location is really close (I could walk but my wife drove) to Ikea. Booked the Lego discovery world package (I wouldn't recommend Lego discovery world) which was a great deal. It's Schaumburg, so you are 5 minutes from more than 100 restaurants.

Room Tip: Go high and stay away from the pool - kids, kids, kids
