This experience was just ok. I don't think it's worth the money at all, but people keep coming. We liked the ride. The lego factory wasn't real but I guess it gave the kids an idea of how legos were made.

I am glad we went after 3pm for the reduced price, which I still found high. While there were a few things that reminded me a bit of Disney, the overall quality was lower than I expected. The Disney-like parts of Legoland were the shooting ride and a 4D movie. On the ride (good for any age that can walk) you shoot at guys throwing rocks on a television screen and things like spiders. The problem was the guns didn't seem to work very well on certain seats. The other, more unique feature, was the 4D movie, but it was strange, I wasn't really following the plot, and the only 4D feature that seemed to work was the rain. I am pretty sure there was suppose to be a scent aspect as well, but it wasn't working. Workers and other guests also kept entering an exit right by the screen that was really distracting. The pedal ride we couldn't go on because our son was too young. The best part for him (2 yrs old) were the scenes of Legos (Chicago & forest) and the top floor where he liked watching and participating in building cars from Legos then racing them. The problem was this area was quite crowded and loud. They really need to expand their space. We had 6 adults looking around for more because we all couldn't believe that was all there was when we reached the second floor. I would recommend a children's museum rather than Legoland if you have young children. For the price, the children's museums will give you more for your money even without the fancy Disney-like features that didn't seem to be functioning properly.

Took my 14-year-old Lego fanatic here while visiting the area. We bought our tickets online which saved money, but even though we went into the "already have tickets" line, the people behind the desk ignored us until the other parties in the "standard" line had been helped first.

We happened to be there during Star Wars Week so it was fun to see the additional Star Wars figures throughout the standard Lego scenes as well as the costumed Darth Vader, Stormtroopers, and other characters roaming the center.

The 3D movie was cute, the Lego build was great (we paid the $5 to keep the pod racing scene we created), and the ride where you shoot at things was also fun. The visit to the "factory", while cheesy, was still cute.

However, the area where you build and race cars was a major zoo with young kids screaming and running wild with no adult supervision (one was walking down one of the car "launch" ramps kicking other kids' creations off the course and was being obnoxious to the point where a random dad asked the kid where his parents were). It also irked me no end that to buy the Lego scene we built we had to go to the snack bar area where the workers looked they wanted to be anywhere else and didn't get that I did not want food - I just wanted to buy the scene we had assembled in the class. It also was annoying to have to wait 15 minutes(!) just to buy a set that was sitting behind the workers while the people in front of me took forever to decide what food to order and in which massive quantities they should do so. (They should have you buy the assembled kits in the shop downstairs where it would make more sense, have the master builder take your money, or have an express line at the cafe if all you want to do is buy the kit.)

Would I go here again? No. Much like my visit to Legoland in California a few years ago, Lego locations are really made for kids under 10, and even that is pushing it. It seemed that most of the kids there the day we visited were an average age of about 6, with a lot of them in strollers. There were notices that they do have "adult nights" but they really stress that you can only be there if you are with a child. It's a pity because it seems that the Legoland locations ignore kids when they get to their tweens/teens because they focus so much on the preschool/elementary set. They have memberships where you can go back as many times as you wish, but I can't imagine if you have a kid over 9 why you would want to, especially considering the price.

The cost is better if you have coupons but the kids always love coming here. The 3D movies are also a bit hit. I like the factory tour but there is something here for everyone!

Kids loved it although it is definitely geared for really young kids.. 10 year olds would prob be really bored with it.
