“Very Very peaceful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2013

We stayed here last july 2012, two nights with a KGB voucher, staff were very nice and polite, everything was exceptional, the breakfast was divine. We would have no hesitation in staying again. Our stay was a very pleasant experience, the weather that week-end was a complete wash out, but having such a wonderful place to stay completely made our stay very very enjoyable. This is a b&b /retreat highly recommended.

Lovely quiet space. Very welcoming. Food wonderful. The honesty bar and gift shop was a nice touch. Lounge was really lovely. Enjoyed the gardens and the views. Would stay here again. Stayed for a retreat and poetry weekend.

A really peaceful retreat and so relaxing ,
If you are looking for something out of the ordinary i can say you will find it here !
The bedrooms in the house are not updated, meaning no en-suit toilets/bathrooms are on the same corridor just a couple of strides from you bedroom (like in our bungalow)
Well we enjoyed our stay and will be returning,, next time for longer than the two nights we had !!!!!

I've stayed here on several occasions and very much appreciate the gorgeous food, the quiet, beautiful and secluded grounds. The lounge and dining areas are in the older part of the house whilst there are modern bedrooms in a 1960s(?) extension. The bathrooms are down the corridor rather than en-suite but this has not proved to be a problem. The food is absolutely excellent - it is brought to your table or served from a sideboard but you clear the tables to a serving trolley. There are an interesting choice of local beers and ciders available in a small help-yourself bar.

We got married on the 5th November and contacted Holland House about joining in with their annual Fireworks Display (as an after wedding get together). The people were so friendly and helpful and the grounds are very very beautiful.

When we went there we saw they did buffets too and enquired about having a pre-fireworks lunch. Holland House created a delicious homemade cream tea and sandwiches (even though they were catering for the evening event in the kitchens later that evening) and all at a very reasonable price!

Really can't say how wonderful Holland House is or illustrate on paper how tranquil the setting is.
The whole team there really make everything memorable and at very short notice they even organised a short blessing in the Chapel in between the cream tea and fireworks event (the resident vicar Ian was marvelous)

The Fireworks event is every year and is amazingly good value (this year it cost £2.50 for a fireworks show including a hot dog and sparkler each!) They also had homemade toffee apples and scrummy pumpkin soup.

We'll be popping back again for anniversary fireworks & probably for some of the excellent craft fairs too. ;^)
If considering a wedding venue the chapel is simply stunning with a huge picture window of the grounds... Go visit and see!

I came here on a training course. We were treated with lovely home cooked food, breakfast, lunch and dinner was delicious. We had home made biscuits, and cake in our breaks with lots of coffee and tea. The rooms were lovely and clean. On our last night Shirley got a log fire going in the sitting room very homely. Please don't change the venue is homely and welcoming.
