“Best cream tea I've had!”
Reviewed August 21, 2013 via mobile

I visited Shelly's yesterday with a friend after a gym session. We had a cream tea each, it was huge! For the price it was good value, we could have shared one.
Two good sized, home baked scones with lashings of clotted cream...not enough jam for me but thats okay.
The young girl who served us was polite and attentive and despite it being quiet, she still looked interested! She even provided us with a bag to take home the scone we couldn't manage.
I can't wait to visit again, afternoon tea next time :)

“Great tea room”
Reviewed July 6, 2013

What a great tea room. We have visited this place many times this year and each time have been met with a lovely warm welcome ,the staff are very friendly and chatty and service was prompt, The food was fantastic for the price with loads on the menu to choose from. The tea room itself is lovely and clean and in a great spot for a great day out. I highly recommend it.

“Not impressed”
Reviewed May 31, 2013

We arrived at Shellys at 12.15 for a soup or sandwich and a cream tea, as we had read such a lot of good reviews. We entered the tea shop which was empty with a hallo from the kitchen area which wasn't a good start, we looked at the menu and my wife chose home made soup so she asked what soup was on the menu and was told" we ran out of the soup last night I'm just about to make some more" at 12.15!!.so back to square one, we then chose sandwiches and were about to order when a voice from the kitchen area said "we haven't got any cheese" so that was the last straw we got up and left, service was terrible, there wasn't any! So I wouldn't recommend this tearoom to anybody. Ps.we had wonderful cream tea and fantastic service, nearby on the cliff top.

“Lovely tea room”
Reviewed January 3, 2013

What a lovely tea room. Had a lovely afternoon tea when we visited St Margaret's - this little please was hidden away. I'm glad that we stumbled upon this place, recommend a visit for a relaxing afternoon tea with friends. Service was prompt and the experience was enjoyable

“Still as nice”
Reviewed October 14, 2012

Stopped in for a coffee and a piece of cake.

Same friendly welcome. The coffee was very good and the chocolate cake even better.

Tremendous value for money too.
