Crowne Plaza Chicago O'Hare Hotel & Conference Center
Ranked #11 of 18 Hotels in Rosemont

My third stay there, last on a September weekend, 2011. The room is clean and comfortable. Great for a business meeting and such.

Had a problem with their accounting, which after 3 days of calling , finally 3rd live person corrected it to my full satisfaction.

This of course should not reflect on the quality of the hotel at all. I will stay there anytime.

Room Tip: Being close to the airport, expect some airplane noises.

I stayed here because I attended a 3-day conference in the hotel.

All and all, the hotel was very good. It is an older property, but they clearly have updated all of their finishes and the place looks quite contemporary. I really like the bamboo-patterned tile in the bathrooms, though the bathroom itself was cramped. I did find the upper hallways a tad dark. But once I got to my room, there was lots of natural and other light, and the room was large enough to have a nice settee in it.

The place is very large, probably because it is just outside of Chicago proper so there is more land. The 24/7 shuttle to/from O'Hare comes every 30 minutes, and takes about 10-15 minutes, which is great. The staff members are friendly. It was a seamless pleasant experience.

A few of us took the subway to Chicago. It is about a 10 or 12 minute walk to the Rosemont station from the hotel, which was fine in September, but in the winter that would be tough.

We stayed there for a night on the way back to Seattle. The rooms were spacious, the beds were comfortable and like all Crowne Plaza hotels, there was a placard in the room offering to provide toothbrush, razor etc if you needed it - for free. On-site parking was a little inconvenient and slightly expensive at $23.

We stayed at this airport hotel for a pre-trip night and use shuttle bus service to O'Hare airport.

Location:
This hotel is hard to find from the North River road side as we took bus to the Rosemont CTA/bus station because it is behind the Doubletree hotel. It is about 10 minutes walk from the train station.

Facility:
Swimming pool and exercise room are decent sized and well equipped. Water fountain with cups near the ice machine are nice amenity.

Room:
The room is decent and stylish. We did not encounter any noise issue (from hallway nor airplanes).

Elite Bonus:
As a Priority Club Platinum using points, I received a higher floor room but no suite upgrade and a drink coupon which can be used at the bar or coffee shop. I got a call from from desk after arrived room for about 20 minutes to see how's everything.

The hotel reservation has listed a lounge access inclusive room but the lounge does not seem to be open during our stay and it looks like just a section of the 1st floor bar area.

Breakfast:
We had very nice buffet breakfast and the beacon and sausage was excellent. The buffet selection is limited but quality is decent.

Internet Access:
I called frontdesk about Internet access. Per agent, the Internet access is free for Priority Club members (not sure if all levels) by login using room # and last name. The charge will removed from final bill. Also, you can use the business center PC to print boarding passes FREE.

Room Tip: Higher Floor

We stayed at the Crowne last week for a trip to Maui. We had a great room, great pool, and a quick trip to ORD in the morning. The parking is safe, the shuttle every half hour. We went to door two at the transportation center, called the Crowne, they said the shuttle would arrive in 10 min. it pulled up right on time for a 5 min. ride back to the Crowne at the return of our flight.
We spend the evening at the HIP mall about five miles away. Anything we buy can stay with the car. We only take four days of clothes to make everything carry on for the trip. We stay in a condo with a washer and dryer. We buy some food at grocery stores. Half the fun is going to mom and pop restaurants recommended by locals. We also enjoy eating a craft fares held in parks or public areas.
We collect nativity sets that are locally made and we collect a small amount of sand where ever we go. We now have more than 20 nativity sets and three times that many sand bottles.
A stay at this hotel will be a pleasant experience, you receive a gate pass when you check in, great system. You can come and go without validation of you entrance slip. They have hundreds of parking spots, many of them in a covered parking structure.
The desk people are pleasant and helpful. We had breakfast at Starbucks, just down the hall from the desk.
You need parking anyway, try the Crowne.

Room Tip: Ask for a room high in the hotel, it is always quieter.

The hotel is new but it feels like a hotel that was put together quickly and not really cleaned that well. My room was very dusty, there were hairs in the bathtub. Other than that is seems fine for an overnight stay when you plan on going to the airport next day.....I cannot comment on the price as a bunch of us were allowed stay here when our plane was delayed. Wi-fi was something like $12 per day!!!!!!!!!!
