recently stayed here using their "park and fly" option; spend the night and you can park your car while you are gone; room and facilities were very nice. they picked us up promptly and brought us to O'hare; dropped us off right at the door, very nice. we were instructed that domestic flights are picked up every 30 minutes, just wait for the next shuttle. but we were international, were instructed to call them when we arrived.OK. so we called, first the person on the phone put me on hold for 15 MINUTES. ridiculous. called back and he tried to put me on hold again. no please, just need picked up at the airport. He kept trying to say he didn't have our name, finally figured out he was trying to find a reservation. NO.... we've been there, just need picked up... had to explain this several times. finally says someone will be there in 15 min. Great! only it turned into an hour... an hour before they finally came. I feel this is unacceptable, was perfectly willing to wait 30 min, but we were tired, the end of a long day and standing by the taxi's at O'hare for 1 hour was "trying" to say the least. I will definitely do the "park and fly" again, saw many other shuttles picking people up so tons of hotels are doing this... but will not use this hotel!

This Express is not one of the new-builds that you might be used to on the interstate - but it is just fine for quick stays near O'Hare. I got in very late and decided to stay near the airport before driving to my final destination the next day. Check in was easy and pleasant, and the room was small but clean and quiet. The bathroom is *really* small, and could use an upgrade, but at least it seemed clean. The carpet colors are ug-lee but maybe they'll fix that in the next upgrade! I didn't take advantage of the breakfast or anything else, just headed out the next morning. I would stay here again if needed.

We ended up staying in this hotel after flight cancellations due to snow. The airline sorted out our stay so all we had to do was checkin. The staff were very friendly and helpful especailly considering they were dealing with a plane full of very tired people. The hotel was nice and clean and the only complaints was the hair dryer was useless and obtaining the correct wifi password took a few calls to reception but other than that we had a very comfortable stay. The shuttle bus to the airport is ok but the driver was unhelp with dealing with loading bags and the times of the bus are not clearly signed anywhere.

In an attempt to save a little money and knowing we had an early flight out of Chicago, we chose to stay near O'Hare Airport rather than in Chicago. In hindsight, as a tourist, I would recommend trying to stay in Chicago instead of using the Blue Line (although very reliable and clean for the 30mins plus trip that we took).
Our first challenge when we arrived at O'Hare was actually getting a shuttle to the hotel. Whilst many Holiday Inns are listed for pickup location, this one is not. After asking a number of drivers (who gave different pickup points) we called the hotel and got an automated message telling us where to stand to wait for the shuttle (which picks up at quarter past and quarter to each hour) - perhaps this should be detailed on the reservation confirmation?
Anyway, once we finally made it to the hotel after 7pm and checked in, we found ourselves in
rooms 628 (2 queen beds) and 630 (also 2 queen beds). Both rooms look towards O'Hare and are fairly basic.
Room 628 came equipped with a daddy long legs spider (not used to dealing with wildlife in a Holiday Inn hotel!) but at least it had a refrigerator (room 630 did not). The bathroom is tired-looking - tiles moved and there were marks on the celing - plus without venting, it quickly filled with steam when the shower was running.
The airport noise was a little loud overnight, even with the air conditioner running, but it is not surprising.
Standard Holiday Inn Express free buffet breakfast, although breakfast room is clearly set up to cater for large conference groups - there is a lot of space. While we were there (2 nights) there were at least a couple of conferences preparing to start.
There are gym facilities on the ground floor. It looked well equipped and clean, however it is located next to the elevators and is completely surrounded by windows. For me, it looked like I would be 'on show', which is not my preference, so I did not use the facilities.
As an airport hotel, I would recommend it - the staff are lovely and very helpful and the facilities are really good.

i recently got stranded at the Chicago O'Hare airport and was surprised how easy it was to get a room at the Holiday Inn express in a very short amont of time! (expecially since it was the day before new years eve!). The staff was excellent! Everyone including the shuttle driver were friendly and helped me out through my difficult situation. The room was very nice and I couldn't have asked for a better hotel to stay in!
