Gibsons at Rosemont was where we reserved a table Sunday nite. We were a little late for our reservation because of Chicago traffic. Valet parking is free so do not park in garage it is $15. We were still seated and the hostess was very friendly. All the waiters were very attentive. We started off with a small plate of antipasto and my favorite was the artichoke medley. There was four of us and it was plenty big and a really good price. We all had filets for dinner with bernaise sauce which were excellent and of course you cannot pass up the twice baked potato. Very big asparagus and the spinach with mushrooms were ok. Two things we also can't pass up is a bottle of cab and their delicious and huge devils food cake. We will go back again for sure. Thanks Gibsons for making us feel welcome especially with an infant.

I'm sorry, but this place with such a reputation and walls covered with celebrity photographs really disappointed me. First of all, I had to wait 15-20 minutes to get a table even though I had a reservation, and the table was upstairs in very cold air-conditioning with unimpressive decor. The entrees were upwards of $50 each, except the fish. While the food was good, it wasn't worth all that, in my opinion. Service at the table was haphazard... they don't do butter knives, so be ready to spread your butter with a huge steak knife. Finally, most of their desserts are designed for 4-5 people. Why? It was strange, to say the least.

"Best steak I've ever had" is this usual comment I hear at this Chicago institution. And well deserved. The O'Hare location is waaaay too small - my only complaint. It's pricey but worth it. And Hugo's Frog Bar is the same menu/decor. Try their locations. The W.R. Chicago Classic cut is my go-to entree.

I have eaten at Gibson's for years on Rush Street and once in a while at other locations. I have never been disappointed in their steak before the other night. Their french fries were still the best french fries I have ever eaten in a restaurant, rivaled only by Cozy Dog in Springfield, Illinois. The steaks people were served in our party of ten were all far below Gibson standards however.

The service was also below their normal standards as well.

I'm not sure why, but we were disappointed. I have no problem paying for great, but as it was, the meal was too expensive for the quality.
