Description: Hofbrauhaus Chicago is the first and only German micro brewery, beer hall, restaurant and beer garden to call Chicago home. Modeled after the legendary Hofbrauhaus in Munich, Germany, it takes pride giving you an experience as authentic and unforgettable as the 400-year-old original. Guests can savor schnitzels, sausages, Sauerbraten and pretzels, and some ingredients are even imported from abroad. The freshly brewed beer follows the purity law from 1516 using original recipes handed down by the Duke of Bavaria over 400 years ago. With its beer hall (Schwemme), King Ludwig Room, and Biergarten in summer, it's Oktoberfest every day. Hofbrauhaus Chicago also features live music nightly with bands from Germany and Austria. In addition, you can take a piece of Bavaria home from the gift shop stocked with authentic and unique Bavarian gifts & collectibles.

“Fun for a group”
Reviewed May 15, 2014

The Hofbrauhaus is an American authentic version of a Munich Biergarten. The beer is good, the food oke for this kind of establishment and the noise is a really good environment for a large group event with drinks, food and entertainment. Do not expect brilliant food, but with the beer it is no problem ;-) Yes, it is a fun place for a group or team building event. No, don't come here for a romantic, quiet dinner

“Wait a minute, how'd we end up in Germany?”
Reviewed May 13, 2014

The hotel area across from the Donald E. Stephens convention Center in Rosemont has recently been extensively built up, and now includes an Irish pub, a Brazilian churrascaria and, yes, a German beerhall.

Hofbrauhaus Chicago is a replica of Munich's iconic establishment and only the waitresses Chicago accents reveal you're not actually in Germany. The open seating plan, replete with heavy, dancing-certified tables, is as German as it gets, and so is the menu.

This reviewer had lunch with a co-worker. He had Nuremberger Rostbratwurst; I had weisswurst. My sausage tasted just like many I've had in Germany, and his looked pretty authentic, too, although about three times the size of actual bratwurst in Nuremberg. Expect fresh-baked, soft pretzels and sauerkraut and kartoffelsalat for sides - and don't expect to find a light lunch by any definition. But if you bring an appetite, you won't be disappointed (unless you're vegan - if you are, stay away from this place...and certainly don't go to Germany).

The house beer was delicious and the food was right up there, too. At noon on a Monday, the place was largely deserted, and our waitress talked with us and made us feel welcome. Busier times might be, well, busier, but we appreciated the personal attention. My next visit will be for dinner.

“Great food, even better experience”
Reviewed May 13, 2014

I've been here a few times and was never disappointed. The last time I went was for mother's day. The atmosphere is fun and unique. The traditional German food is delicious. Make sure you leave room for an a la mode apple strudel. This was one of the best I've ever had. The prices are slightly higher than I expected, but overall this is a great restaurant. We will be back.

“Worth going”
Reviewed May 6, 2014

Its a very spacious bar and also had some good music and games. The staff is very friendly. I would consider this bar a hidden gem and definitely worth visiting. The ambience and beers are 5 stars but the food is nothing great to talk about. Very close to the airport hotels
