“Newly renovated, clean but very loud guest rooms.”
Reviewed March 2, 2010

Newly rennovated, the hotel looks great with all the modern amenities in the lobby, dining, gym and in the rooms. Unfortunately the renovation did not include insulation because you can hear everything in the rooms and hallway surrounding including people in neighboring rooms talking. Additionally because it is right next to O'Hare, the El, and also the Kennedy expressway and you hear all of this noise in rooms as well. Overall a very nice hotel, but ear plugs need to be provided!!!

This Hyatt looks nice on the outside, but really seems to be falling apart on the inside. There are bugs in some higher-rate rooms, and the prices are high given the worn-out furnishings and small square footage. You also need to watch out for the pressure-sensitive mini-bar. However, the staff is nice and checkout/check-in quick.

What does Hyatt O'Hare have going for it? Lots. First off, I love the design. They took one of those 60's or 70's big atrium hotels and have turned it into a chic hotel with great design, colors and visual appeal.

But I don't go to a hotel just for the way it looks. I thought the service was great, and the food selection pretty good at the Red Bar. Try the Halibut!

They have a good hotel gym, though it is in a strange place, right next to the front desk, so you have to walk in front of everyone being sweaty.

I was at the hotel for a few weeks on business. There is NOTHING around it, so be aware of that. But, you can walk about 3 blocks and access the CTA Blue Line to go wherever you want.

One thing - the beds weren't the best, but then Hyatt's never are.
I have been to this hotel a few times, and would go back.

this place is awsome, for an in door experience. this is a ten story hotel with an open air atrium for a lobby. from the cross walk on the tenth floor the ants are replaced by real little people. there is not a bad room in the place. all four corners have equal acess to the middle of the facility. via. four glass elavaters center of the atrium.

Stayed here for a full week for a conference. The lobby was great, the rooms were nice and beds were comfy. I could hear my neighbor loud and clear though. My room had a king bed, but only a shower stall - if you like baths, maybe ask for one. The maid service was marginal - they did not replace my shampoo and conditioner daily and I had to ask for it. Also, when they did replace the conditioner, they put body lotion in the shower causing me to put lotion in my hair.

The conference rooms were spacious, although the bathrooms were located so far from the rooms that it was very inconvenient to quickly duck out of a meeting to use the restroom. The temperature regulation was horrible also. My colleagues and I, no joke, had to wear scarves and extra layers in our meetings. When we asked for the temperature to be raised, the staff did not understand enough English to be able to oblige.

And after all that, the WORST thing by far about this hotel is the food. It was absolutely disgusting. Our sit-down dinner was like a microwave dinner on a china plate - extremely salty and poor quality.

This hotel is great if you are just staying the night while waiting for a flight. But I would not recommend it for longer than that.

My husband and I had a lovely stay at the Hyatt O'Hare. We booked the new years eve package which included the room as well as dinner at O'h and the nye party. We did have to pay $20 for parking, but I was expecting that. Our room was nice. I didn't think it was too small, plenty of room for the two of us. The bathroom was clean and bright. There are planes landing quite frequently, but I really didn't notice the sound. We would definitely stay here again for new years eve...the party was so much fun!
