“Enjoyed the Doubletree”

Stayed for one night after a late check in & early check out to get a flight from O'Hare. The reception area is large and check in was a breeze. We did not use the shuttle from the airport and could not find anything about it on the hilton website but I believe they share it with the Embassy Suites across the street. I really like the large comfortable room. We had 3 ppl in the room without feeling cramped. The king bed was large with a comfy sofa bed. We ordered room service which arrived quickly. Hot & fresh. Delicious coffee. There was not a hint of smoke is any of the hallways or in our room so I'm sure the management took note of a previous reviewer and added a fresh lemon smell to the corridors.

Mechanical problems in Beijing caused me to be a couple of hours late into O'Hare missing my connection home to Tampa. United was kind enough to put me up for the night and I'm grateful. The Doubletree was their choice, not mine. I hate to look a gift horse in the mouth but I wanted to warn anyone thinking of staying here in the future.
To their credit, the desk help did the best they could with what they had to work with but that's about all the good things I have to say about this hotel.
I'm not sure how long it had been since the room was cleaned but, upon opening the (empty) mini fridge, I found leftovers of Giordano's pizza and an unopened yogurt that had expired two months earlier.
This actually made me start thinking about pizza so I called up room service thinking that Chicago has a reputation for good pizza so I'd give it a shot.
The pizza arrived about a half an hour after the promised time, the sausage was clumped in several places on the pizza instead of being evenly distributed and, to top it off, it was burned to the extent that the cheese was brown and leathery.
The toilet had obvious mineral stains and, after spending a week in Chinese hotels, I have to say that this hotel has a long way to go to catch up with their Communist counterparts.

This is the nicest Doubletree I have stayed ever stayed at.

The only downside is the inconvenient (and NOT free) parking ramp, that is a maze to get out of.

if you are a heavy smoker this is the place to be. You can get your daily dose of nicotene standing in the hall or sitting in your room and simply breathing. If you don't smoke and the smell of stale cigarettes bothers you, avoid this place like the plague. For $200 a night plus $24 parking you should expect more. It's a Motel 6 with better dressed attendents.
The rooms are nice and roomy with extended ceilings so you don't feel confined, large bathroom BUT...

it cost far too much for what it delivers. Personally I just can't get around the cigarette smoke. Nice room but everything just smells very stale and old.

This hotel was wonderful and the restaurant - Gibsons was spectacular. The front desk employee was very helpful and friendly along with all the hotel staff. The only issue we had was our in room movie system wasn't working but they fixed that immediately. The room s were immaculately clean!!! The bartender- Israel was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and fun to talk to. Great service would recommend anyone to stay there!!!

Stayed here for three nights while working at O'Hare airport. The room was very nice, large, comfortable with that great Doubletree bed. The bathroom was large with a separate walk in shower and tub, very nice indeed. Being near the airport you can hear planes frequently, but hey, it's near the airport, what can you expect? The front desk was of average help. They overcharged me for parking, but did take care of it respectfully once I brought it to their attention. Speaking of parking, parking is next door in the convention center parking garage, which is fairly easy to access, but requires a validation from the front desk every time you leave. It's also not cheap.

Pros:
- Close to the airport.
- Large, clean, comfortable room, great bed
- Huge bathroom.
- Walking distance to Blue Line

Cons:
- Parking garage access
- Airport shuttle took so long to pick me up at Terminal 5 that I wound up taking a cab instead (which was only $7 or so I think).
- Close to airport (noise)

This hotel has a great staff. I have stayed in some good Doubletree's and some bad. This is the best. Great fitness facility that provides water and fruit, pool for the kids. The one negative is there is a fee to park your vehicle. There is an Outback in the area, Harry Caray's.
