“Great Business Stay”
Reviewed April 19, 2013

Room was clean and neat. The conference room suite was ok- not enough outlets. Breakfast buffet was fabulous as well as the nightly “happy hour”. Walking distance to a movie theater and a ton of restaurants. The only real complaint is that the bathrooms are dated and need to be updated. Overall a nice place to stay.

We stayed here for a spring break with our 4-person family. The hotel was beautiful, with delicious cooked to order breakfast, and drinks and snacks at night. The room was a great size for my husband, my two teenage kids and myself. The room was clean, and the service from hotel staff was great. The only problem was the swimming pool; it smelled awful, and the area was messy with soda cans, towels and garbage strewn around. Once we just decided not to use the pool or hot tub, the stay was great. The location was just a couple blocks from some great restaurants and entertainment.

Look at my comments. Expected a 2-room "suite" to include a living room, as opposed to a conference room, for the additional space. Our room was on the same floor as the evening "Manager's Reception" with loud, ethnic music that was impossible to ignore even in the room. The reception itself seemed to be thrown together at the last minute, most buffet items arriving anywhere from 10 to 45 minutes late for the scheduled event. Granted it was a Saturday evening (as opposed to a corporate weeknight), but the whole affair failed to make anyone feel especially significant for an occasion they probably didn't expect (but hoped for) in the first place. Very inferior execution and very disappointing. The inclusion of internet and parking with the "suite" upgrade was extremely confusing when making reservations on the web site: one screen proclaimed the services as provided, while the confirmation screen listed the same amenities as additional charge, promting 1) a phone call to the hotel requesting clarification, and 2) a subsequent request for the same confirmation on check-in. Basic services one would expect from any hotel - particularly those bearing the Hilton heritage - were fine: the room was clean, housekeeping was fine, staff encountered were friendly and courteous. Any manager worth his/her salt could do that. It's the little attention to details/clarity of pre-arrival information/any attempt at passionate creativity, and just showing some interest in giving ordinary guests a special home-away-from-home experience that disappoints me. I'll may be back. But I will ask far more questions on the font end than I did this time.

After reading some of the reviews about this hotel I was a little hesitant to book a room. Thankfully, I had no other choice and was thrilled with our experience here. The music and noise from cocktail hour was a little loud (even though we were on the fourth floor in a corner suite) but only in the front sitting area. Moving to the bedroom and shutting the connecting door cut the noise level down and we couldn't even tell that anything was going on downstairs. The rooms were very clean. No weird smells, furniture was in good condition, housekeeping was on top of everything, and the bed was wonderfully comfortable. We only ordered room service once but it arrived quickly, was still hot and exactly as ordered. The only strange things about the experience: No one let us know we needed the room key to get out of the parking garage or that there was a drop box to leave the key in and the bathroom floor was oddly slick.

Stayed here on business. The bed was comfortable, the room reasonably clean, temperature was fine, hotel nicely but simply decorated, and the common area for breakfast set up nicely. Then there was the bathroom which was the sore thumb on the whole experience. It looked like it had not been updated in over ten years which made it harder to clean. It really detrated from what otherwise have been an above-average experience.

Stayed here for a three day business trip. Rooms are very large. Beds were comfortable, although mattress was a little soft. Television was a little blurry and remote changed channels very slowly. Elevators were very slow. Breakfast buffet was very good. Chefs and staff were super friendly and accommodating. Food was hot. Area was spotless. The managers reception at night is also very nice. Great atmosphere to continue business discussions and just to meet up for dinner. Meeting room was, fine, temperatures were good. Room temperatures were able to be controlled. Hotel restaurant food was good but a bit expensive. Would definitely stay again. Hotel staff are very friendly and accommodating. Free shuttle,to airport. Free shuttle to casino nearby.

This is a nice hotel located within 10 minutes of O'Hare. The staff is friendly and the room are clean. This is a typical Embassy suites hotel. There is a free cooked breakfast and free manager's reception every evening. The only downfall is that you will hear planes all night due it being so close to O'Hare.

Room Tip: I always avoid staying on higher floors due to the planes flying at night.
