We went to Midway Village to see their giant Sock Monkey, said to be the World's Largest, but was surprised at everything else that was there. The village is cute and large enough for the kids to take a little time exploring, and the museum that housed the Sock Monkey is updating to some pretty neat high-tech displays. Plus there was a bonus Dollhouse Museum right off the parking lot that was a neat little side stop.

This place has a historical village with reenactors, the rockford peaches( A League of Their Own) original uniforms in the museum, and a fun titanic supper in april. There always seems to be a lot to do there andI can't wait to visit again.

This is a great place to take the kids to see how it was like "in the old days!" The village has lots of fun things to see, and don't miss the doll house exhibit. The museum has some interesting local items, but the real draw for us was the village circa 1901. A tour guide will take you around and give you some tidbits of info. Nice place and well done.

My kids and I are very interested in "history & the olden days". I love learning about Rockford. This place is very neat. They have building such as the general store, jail, fire house, school house, hospital, church, blacksmith, printers shop. They have a wonderful guided tour. Weve always had a great tour and they really let the kids get involved and ask lots of questions. The museum is really nice also, we dont spend as much time in there but very nice. Also they have special weekends when there is a theme like "civil war days" and they put on a big act. Theyve done "wild west" before and really miss it. Havent seen it in about 6 years. Would love to see that again

We always go to the WW2 event at the end of September. My 13 year old son looks forward to it. We try to attend other events throughout the year and always have a good time. If living in this area and plan to attended 2 or more events, buy a membership. It pays for itself usually after the first visit for a family.
