Description: Thai food is well known for hot and spicy taste. In reality it is a combination of sweet, sour, salty, and spicy tastes is what makes Thaifood unique. It is outstanding in term of tastes, high nutritional values and the diverse of herbs and spices that useful for health.

“reasonably good Thai food”

We judge Thai restaurants by our multiple experiences in Bangkok. In fact on this trip we were leaving the next day for an extended trip to India, Myanmar (Burma) and Thailand. Our hotel recommended this eatery as a good one. It was very clean and service was friendly and efficient. papaya salad (Som Tum), green Curry with chicken and the basil chicken were quite authentic. W asked for very hot and were a little disappointed by the lack of heat in extra hot. I assume they tone down the spice level based on bland American tastes. Overall, if we are back in this area, we would revisit this restaurant and be a little more forceful in asking for spicy.

“My Favourite Thai Reataurant!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 24, 2013 via mobile

Not my first visit, but I have to say; the food is of a consistently high standard here, as is the service!

Try the excellent egg rolls and chicken pad thai!

Worried about the food being too 'spicy'? Fear not, they offer 5 levels of spice: 1 being mild and 5 being very spicy! I'm a 'wuss' when it comes to spicy food, so I go for level 2! The missus usually gets level 3 or 4!

What more can I say?! Come here and enjoy the great food and service!

Thai Hut makes the best Thai chicken red curry you'll find anywhere! And the Thai custard with sticky rice should not be missed for dessert!

“Service a hit, food... miss”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 5, 2013

On a recent Saturday we chose Thai Hut based on the excellent reviews and ranking from TA. We coordinated with friends from out of town and didn't realize there were 2 locations about the same distance from the Japanese Gardens (our final stop). Needless to say, we were not very impressed with the food at this location, but the service was great. This one is tucked in the corner of a busy strip mall at Perryville and Mill, but at 1pm on a Saturday, there were only a couple other tables occupied (maybe why the service was so attentive?). Our server was patient and allowed us to have separate checks. Another nice feature is that they offer the lunch special from 11-2 every day, Sat & Sun included. That said, we still managed to spend $60+ for 3 adults and 2 kids. The Thai rice was tasty, but my rib dish was dry and not flavorful. The hot and sour soup was very good, but the panang curry chicken at level 2 spicy was so spicy, it was hard to believe this was only a level 2 and was not consumed. The crab rangoons were sweeter and smaller than we've had at other restaurants, the order is 4 for $4.95 - & not a good crab flavor, but the Thai iced coffee was very good. If we're ever in Rockford again for Thai, we'll try the other location and see if it's better.
