I was refered to this hotel by a friend of the manager. The night staff was not the friendliest but that was fine given the hour. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and fairly priced. Will definitely keep this hotel in mind on my next visit to the area! Great work on the renovations!

We were told that the owners have spent a great deal of money on renovations of this property. You can see that the front of the buildings have been updated, new roof, paint, etc. The rooms also have been renovated, but maybe not a lavishly as we were lead to believe. We stayed at the Alpine Inn on a Saturday night when most of the hotels in Rockford were full. I was told that the only rooms left were on the back of the hotel. I think they ran out of money when they started to remodel the rear rooms! The back buildings of the Alpine are very grungy, less well kept as the front. The room, which was clean for the most part, was partially updated. It had a fridge and microwave and new tile and sink in the bathroom. Unfortunately the bathroom also had the old 5 gallon toilet and a well worn toilet seat, plus mold growing on the shower curtain!
Why would you remodel a bathroom with granite and leave some of the 50 year old fixtures!?
The towels and blankets were worn and had holes in them. And the carpet in the room looked newer but had a ridge running across it and a nice sticky spot in front of the TV. Also the back of the hotel has a wooded area across the parking lot and when the maids clean the room, the propped open door lets in all manner of flying insects.

I spoke with a local, who had a relative who stayed in one of the front hotel rooms. He said that room seemed much nicer than how I described our room in the back. He also said that he knew that most of the rooms in the back of building were for more long term renters.
If you stay at this hotel I would make sure that you are not given one of the back hotel rooms.
Disappointing Stay!

We truly appreciate this feedback. We depend on such feedback in order to ensure that our guests have the best stay for the value, and we deeply apologize for the unsatisfactory issues experienced during this stay. We completed the renovation in May and consistently reevaluate our rooms on a weekly basis. As we are constantly re-renovating our rooms we keep a list at the Front Desk that contains a grading system of each room. We always try and upgrade our guests' rooms whenever we possibly can, and the rooms rated the lowest, which are few, are then scheduled for renovation and offered at a low rate for the value. Since this stay we have replaced the toilet in that room and I am regretful that I did not catch it beforehand. There is no excuse for the Housekeeping department's oversight in this room and I have relayed this to the Executive Housekeeper and her team. I personally inspect their work on a weekly basis and cleanliness is most important to us. I have also informed all of the housekeepers that they should never be keeping/using damaged linens- we donate myriad of these to animal hospitals. Again, we appreciate the feedback so that we can continue to make constant improvements.

Our late teenage son was playing in a Rockford Soccer tournament. The value was amazing. A very basic but recently upgraded motel room. The room was big; there was a fridge and microwave. I would have paid at least twice as much for the room. Wifi and continental breakfast were included.

We stopped at the Alpine Inn on one leg of an extended Harley ride throughout the Midwest. Our night at the motel was an important one, since we had ridden since early that morning. When you ride, you hope beyond hope that you'll have a great bed and a great shower waiting for you. And we did--along with a clean, neat room, everything working nicely, and when we were ready to leave the next morning and found our bike needed a wiping down from a sprinkle the night before, the housekeeping was quit to grab us some rags. To many that sounds frivolous; to bikers, those qualities are priceless! There was also ample parking on the blacktop that looked newly done on the lot. If you're in Rockford, head to Alpine. You'll enjoy the hospitality.
