“Fantastic place - We'll be back”
Reviewed August 8, 2011

We were driving from another state and did not know how far we would go, so we did not have a reservation. Stopped next door at the Hilton Garden Inn, but too expensive for a one night stay that had us arriving at 9 pm so we went next door to the Fairfield and the night clerk Andrew was fantastic - helped us select a room at a fair price - guess that is why they call it Fair Field - anyway - it was a suite - fantastic layout - retro style - great colors - two flat screens, two phones, frig and microwave - very nice room for $60 less than next door for only a room - wonderful full breakfast too - lots of choices - Wi - Fi did not work great in the room, but there was a nice CD player in the room too which we took advantage of. It was a wonderful experience and Andrew made the difference for us as we arrived late after traveling and driving for nearly 12 hours - I can't say enough good things about his attitude and the way he treated us - almost like family -

Room Tip: Very Cool Remodeled Rooms - Retro style - Green and Orange color schemes - NICE

The hotel is relatively new, it smells new. They have their act together and make your stay pleasant. The room we had had a workstation, love seat and king size bed. We asked for a suggestion for a restaurant and they had several for us to choose from. The hotel was not the easiest to find on Old Oliver rd. You make a left from west bound I90 under the interstate. At the first light, make a left. You will find Old Oliver about 1200 feet up the road. Make a hard right (almost a u-turn) and approach the hotel. They give a standard breakfast with several microwaveable brakfast items, waffles, cereals, oatmeal and pastries. Theri service was very good. I'd stay there again.

Clean, nice staff, same price as the rest of the nice hotels in the area. Breakfast in the morning. And right off I-90. Overall, a nice one night stay.

This hotel looked brand new. Lobby and rooms were immaculate. Decor very cheery. Looks much more expensive than it is. Staff was very friendly and efficient. Breakfast was typical, did include make your own waffles. Would definitely stay here again.

It's been a long time since I've stayed at a Fairfield because they just seemed to take a deeper and deeper dive into the Motel 6/Red Roof Inn category. Was in Rockford for a baseball tournament and one of the Mom's booked this place, so really had no choice. Wow, what a surprise. Someone stole a page from the Hilton Gardens Inn because if you blind folded me and walked me in, that's where I'd think I was.

This Fairfield was beautiful in decor and service. Front desk people were extremely helpful and they seemed to take in stride the fact that tons of baseball and softball tournament players roamed their hallways. Rooms were serviceable but nothing special with very good wi-fi. Could use some bigger towels, but that's a Marriott issue globally.

Breakfast was fantastic with tons of options. The ONE woman who had to handle the service when I was there was totally overwhelmed though and constantly we had to ask that the coffee urns be refilled and replaced. Hint: when you have a lot of people there, make sure you boost the staffing!

Other than that a tremendous surprise for our $99 which included the free breakfast. Location is good as it's near shopping and tons of restaurants and right off the tollway.

My needs in Rockford were pretty basic: a place to sleep and check email. This Fairfield more than met my expectations. It is easy to find off I-90, the staff was friendly and the hotel was extremely clean. Internet connection was free (wired or wireless) and speedy. Standard breakfast was serviceable. My only minor quibble is that the towels were a bit thin. Literally, I found nothing else that wasn't completely to my satisfaction. I would stay here again without hesitation.
