“Great bed---the rest? Ehhh”
Reviewed April 20, 2011

We went to Rock Island to visit Augustana College. Due to prior committments, we arrived very, very late (2:30am). The lobby was newly redone and pretty nice, but it all looked superficial or artificial. It wasn't very welcoming, but it was clean and new looking. The guy at the front desk was talkative and friendly. We got to our room and to be honest, I was a bit disappointed. The room looked 'tired'. Wall paper needed redone, it was tearing and coming apart at the seams. The bathroom wasn't very well lit and was set up for the handicapped with several big metal handrails and bars. But usually i rate rooms on 1) the bed and 2) the shower. Let me say that this bed in room 532 was the BEST motel bed I've ever slept on. Even though we checked out by 8am and only had about 3+ hours sleep, it was fantastic. Let me just mention the shower. It never got really hot, but it was warm enough. Not much pressure and the individual jets of water seemed to spray in various directions....not all in one direction. Even though the rates were not bad ($45 on Priceline), I find it hard to recommend this motel. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. If you are just needing a cheap bed and don't care about the rest, this may be for you. But, if you are here to visit and want a place to hang out and relax...you may want to go elsewhere.

Good location & clean rooms but pretty shabby: paint peeling, peephole in door was stuffed with Kleenex since hardware was missing, old hvac, etc. But if you dont plan on staying in the room much, it would be fine. For the $55 priceline price, it was worth it. Much more and I would have been disappointed.

The staff make this hotel great. Everyone was friendly and helpful. But, the hotel is older and could use a significant renovation. Comfortable bed, quiet room, parking is very limited, room was either very hot or freezing cold. Overall a good hotel and a great price.

My husband booked this hotel for my birthday so we could have some privacy while we were visiting family the service was great everyone was so friendly the room service was decent priced and the cleanliness of the hotel was amazing. The beds were so comfortable I wanted to take one home. I would strongly recommend this hotel!

The hotel is right next to all the bars in Rock Island. Most of the people staying there on a weekend are people who have been drinking all night. The rooms are in desperate need of remodeling. But you can't beat the location. Be sure to check out the Loop bus.

Rooms need serious remodelling, wallpaper peeling, carpet worn, mildew in bathtub. Hallways loud and can hear everything from other rooms. Beds worn and mildly comfortable for a night sleep, tend to sink towards the middle. Had blood on sheets first night, quickly changed. Towels also dirty and changed. Second night a basketball team tirelessly roamed, and banged, and slammed doors through the night without regard for anyone else(mostly a lack of discipline from them and their coaching staff). Called front desk only to have no one answer the phones despite multiple tries. Horrible place and would be very careful when looking at Rock Island hotels with Hotwire or Priceline, otherwise you will end up like us...unhappy and tired. Parking is free but very limited.

Great location but this hotel desperately needs an upgrade. Hot water was seriously lacking across the board every day, the carpet had obvious stains, and on-site parking was barely available. The hotel's wi-fi is embarrasingly slow and the only breakfast or coffee available is through the Bennigans in the lobby.
