Never seen Moorish architecture before this. Was definitely worth the walk-through. It also stands right on the Mississippi. You can see it coming over the bridge from Missouri and it looks pretty from there. Now you get inside and it's gorgeous. I guess I would say, and I'm sure some would disagree, that if you only did one tour in Quincy, it would have to be this one.

I didn't know that Quincy had so much history. It was really interesting to learn about the castle and its history with the Quincy area.

The Villa Kathrine is a must see when you visit Quincy. It is a beautiful example of Moorish architecture. The view of the Mississippi River is also great! Take the time to stop by & see it. You wont be disappointed.

After 60+ years visiting relatives in Quincy we finally stopped and looked around the Villa Kathrine, a great old home overlooking the Mississippi from the highest bluffs in the area.

Although showing it's age, it is apparent that there is a cadre of interested folks who want to preserve this old mansion built for love unrequited.

It is definitely worth the trip, and visiting the museum.
