Two parks... one... wild and jungle, and second... islands with lemurs. Boat ride, feeding of animals, great experience!

The is a gem of a National Park, Walking thru a rainforest is at times a challenge, Although the trails are well maintained to see the Lemurs we often needed to go into the bush. Leeches are small and harmless and make a good story. The Lemurs are a delight. Do not miss Lemur Island a small island where the lemurs interact with the people.

hearing the Indri was special and seeing four different lemur was good but I thought the guide was in a hurry to get back and my time was under two hours with lots of people all over every sighting of lemurs. I prefer Berenty even with flying on Air Madagascar.

The road to the reserve is awful but well worth the journey. We heard and saw Indri, Black and White Ruffed Lemur, Diademed Sifaka. There weren't many birds about due to the time of year and we did see some chameleons. Some of the off trail trekking was difficult, slippery, steep and muddy ( trekking poles very useful if you are middle aged like me! ) but our guides wanted us to have the best views of the animals.
The park is much quieter and well worth the extra effort.

We had an amazing local guide called William who found us every type of Lemur including the red bellied which is rare to see. We saw loads of chameleons, tree frogs and even a boa constrictor. We had a hectic 2 days here but saw everything and had a fantastic time. It is a must to visit.
