This museum isn't the biggest, but is one of the nicest around. Even if you're not a Pontiac fan, this museum will delight you with all of it's displays, cars, memorabiia, and atmosphere (lighting and wonderful wood flooring). Combine this museum with the Route 66 and the Wall Dog museum, and you'll will end up spending a great morning or afternoon in Pontiac,Il. Oh...they're all free.

Love it! I tell everyone I meet that if they see nothing else in Pontiac, so see this museum. Great souvenirs too.

The museum has a library that you would not believe. It has so many car magazines and books that you could spend just days there looking through everything. The museum offers several different movies, each about 10-15 minutes in length that are very interesting. The museum does not offer a big selection of vehicles to view, but the library and movies together with the vehicles make it a must see. Cost is optional donation.

This entire museum was realized by Tim Dye, who also gives most of the tours. He has amassed a collection of Pontiac automobiles, which he supplements with loaners from friends. While he is an obsessive detail man, he also has an incredible imagination, and sets some of the cars in vignettes that really bring home their history. He extends his collection to books, Pontiac advertising, manuals, and hood ornaments, and he also has a collection of over 1300 oil cans. Who knew there was so much to learn about an oil can? His enthusiasm is contagious. The layout is spacious in a newly re-furbished building. I am not a "car person", but I came to really appreciate the history and styling of these automobiles.
