Full of good memorabilia, sixties style camper etc., not a large museum but interesting. Adjacent war museum was closed temporarily when we were there. This is a Route 66 town, and well worth strolling around to see lots of murals and miniature cars, be sure to go to the square near the museum where there are lots of Route 66 items on buildings etc. This is a pretty, immaculately kept little town with nice restaurants too.

Stopped here and had a look around whilst on the route- got here late and staff were keen to leave. Had a quick look round and made our way to the war museum upstairs.
What we saw looked cool but didn't have time to take everything in.
Would stop here again

Plenty of great Route 66 memorabilia, including an actual hotel sign. That's worth the trip in itself, but there are also other museum rooms, like toys from the 1940's, a USO band and dancing room, a military museum. The town is fun to walk around too, and find a cool place for food and ice cream later.

We visited the museum on our Route 66 trip and I would recommend stopping here for a bit of sightseeing. Some beautiful buildings in the area too but I digress, back to the museum! Plenty of 66 memorabilia on display, a marvelous camper van in the middle of the place decorated with a rough Route 66 map and much more (Don't want to spoil your visit!) The lady working there was so helpful and polite and loves to chat. Worth a visit for sure!

I had hoped this museum would have more classic cars. There are only a couple that I could find. Out back there is a bus that was converted into a motor home by a man who drove Rt 66 his whole life. If the employees are not too busy, they'll take you on a tour inside the bus. Inside the museum, you'll find the same man's VW van. There are several floors to this museum, leading past the military museum, housed in the same building. Be sure to take your time and make sur you don't miss a floor or hidden room. Interesting exhibits include a 1940's kitchen, bedroom, and living room, as well as a couple of real jail cells that are now used to show art. The jail cell doors are still there. I closed the doors to take a picture of my family behind bars. The employees are friendly and helpful.
