Not nearly the size of our zoo at home but it was a cute place to kill a couple hrs. We saw some animals we hadn't seen before. $9 per adult.

This zoo is pretty small - only took about 1 to 1 1/2 hours to see everything. Their Africa exhibit has been recently renovated and offered some good viewing areas for their African animals. Many of the exhibits were a bit sparse. Nice place to get outside and see some animals from around the world!

Loved seeing the animals in their natural habitats. Outside was the place for animals. Paths were nice and when my grandson tripped over his own 2 feet and scraped his knee. We went to the front desk to see about getting some bandaids. They gave us everything we needed and even asked if they could help more and if he was ok. Very much appreciated.

On a whim, my husband and I decided to take our daughter on a road trip and explore the Peoria Zoo! We were very shocked at the variety of animals available as well as the whole layout. It by far surpassed the last zoo we went to in Coal Valley, Illinois. We were worried our daughter would be upset by the lack of a train or carousel but that didn't phase our 5 year old at all!
I would recommend packing a picnic or grill and making a full day of it. The zoo has beautiful areas for picnics, family time, and wonderful playgrounds for the kids.
