My family has a yearly membership and it so worth it. During the summer we go at least once a week. The zoo isn't very big but it is awesome. You get really close to the animals and they have zoo keeper chats, and feed the giraffes and other activities throughout the day that make the experience so personal. We have gotten to know the animals and their names and we get exited to see them. The zoo has free parking and awesome parks near by. You can bring your own food and have a picnic inside the zoo or buy from the various places inside.

My husband and I visited not expecting much from a small town zoo and boy were we wrong! The African exhibit rivals any big city display and was a thrill to see. I look forward to going back soon and taking other family members as I'm sure they will enjoy it as much as I did. Great job to the staff and what a treasure for Peoria!

It was an awesome venue. Staff was super friendly. The children loved to walk around and see the animals which the couple paid extra to have out for an hour. We were still dancing at midnight and the staff just cleaned up around us! Great venue for a wedding reception. Food was reception food- not very warm when it was served BUT the appetizers were fabulous.

Was looking for something different to do, so we ended up picking this zoo because it was 1 hour and 30 mins from our house and didn't wanna make the 3 hours to Chicago. Free Parking and $9 to get it. i was surprise at how well it was. 5.5 acres and VERY well kept. We made it there and back on $60. There also is a park and some running room for kids outside of the zoo! We will be back!

This was a small zoo but an excellent value for the money. It was pleasant to walk around and not very crowded. The animals appear to be well cared for and the enclosures all had enrichment activities for them. You can see the animals very close up. We were amazed how close the tigers were to the glass and got some great pictures. In the Australia area, we loved seeing a wallaby hopping around freely and we enjoyed walking into the aviary with the birds. I hope to come back once the Dingo exhibit is completed.

There was good signage around the zoo explaining about the animals, the environment, etc. The new Africa area had a nice walkway around it and we encountered some volunteers that stand in front of certain exhibits to tell you more about the animals. The zoo can easily been seen in just a few hours and is part of a nice park that also includes a lagoon and botanic garden as well as some other activities.
