As someone else said, don't plan on spending more then 2 hours here. Nice facility but small compared to most zoos.

For a small town zoo, Peoria Zoo is top notch. It is a great family experience. The new African exhibit is wonderful. It is definitely worth seeing if you have small or younger children.

Loved the Africa exhibit, the new entrance and the walkabout! Wonderful place to take family . Cost is fair, the place isn't usually too crowded. Grandkids really enjoy themselves.

Went on a beautiful afternoon for Library Summer Reading Party at the Zoo!
The zoo is small but for a kid, it's a lot to see and they can run around enough. The African exhibit and Austrailian Walkabout are the newest attractions and are our favorite!! The African exhibit has a large divided area showcasing lions, zebras, rhinos, gazelles, & giraffes where you walk around a large, long wooden bridge to view them(neat!!). This is all outdoors. The Austrailian exhibit is for you to walk in this fenced in outdoor area to see the animals! Our favorite was the bird cage--- you walk in to a small sanctuary of flying birds and can feed them if desired! Talk about face to face experience :) The other exhibits have been there for some time but you can see that the zoo is working to update as much as they can! Don't forget to stop by the Food Shop in Africa when you get hungry!! This is overall a nice morning adventure for the kids to enjoy!

Though it is a small zoo - it is well put together - and the Africa exhibit is really special. There is a food court that has a decent variety to choose from.
