“Excellent Experience”
Reviewed September 6, 2012

What an excellent experience! Having been brought up around zoos in St Louis and Chicago I wasnt expecting Peoria to weigh in with anything but mediocre. But I was wrong. The zoo is large and has a wide variety of well maintained exhibits and animals. The lion/tiger exhibit is especially remarkable affording an opportunity to come to a plate glass window distance between a tiger and visitor! I just stayed at that particular exhibit for over 20 minutes marveling at how close I was to a tiger. The exhibit is the Africa exhibit and is a must see. The entire zoo is clean and well maintained. It is a definite MUST SEE for any visitor to Peoria. And it is worth coming back to as well. Nice job Peoria!!

“Very nice with a lot of updates”
Reviewed August 25, 2012

"Africa" is great. Nice layout with unobstructed views. A lot of animals to see. The pathway is flat and smooth so it is great for strollers or people with mobility issues. A great way to spend the day.

The Peoria zoo recently remodeled and added on with a whole new Africa exhibit, and it is HUGE! So much to see and do! I love going there! Everything is so neat!

“Many improvements in recent years”
Reviewed August 5, 2012

The Peoria Zoo has undergone some extensive changes recently, namely their "Africa" Exhibit, which reminds us of Disney's Animal Kingdom. The zoo is easy to get around and there is a wide variety of animals. There is also a petting zoo where kids can get up close to farm animals. The Peoria Zoo is very clean and well-maintained. There are adequate bathrooms and it is a nice way to spend a couple hours with the kids! I would suggest getting a pass.
