“OMG bad kids everywhere!!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 31, 2012

It could have been good, but when we watched the immersion theater movie, a kid was messing with the iPad and kept restarting the movie and pausing it until a guy came in and fixed it and then sat by it. We tried to sit in something but kids kept jumping in front of us and everyone. We left, never tried the simulators because of the horrible acting kids. Look, I have kids, and I never allowed them to act like this. I have tolerance but it was the worst I have ever seen. Cat needs some control over this. If you visit this, go when there are not many kids if you are an adult. And before you think this is some old person writing this, think again, I am a mom with a 17 year old and a collage student who has hauled basketball teammates, softball players and track team plus have been to space camp and other field trips with 35 or more students. It was awful!! I do blame Cat as well as the parents.

“Great Place for Old and Young”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 20, 2012

I just took my 5 year old grandson to see this Visitor's Center and Museum. Granted, he is a construction maniac but he loved it. So much to do and see. They had REAL construction equipment for everyone to sit in and look at. Great Videos, Build a Machine, Old engines, etc. They even had simulators that taught you how to run machines and then gave you an exercise to do. We just happened in on a Monday when kids were still in school and the place was almost deserted. There was a retired gentleman named Roger that had been with the company for 45 years THAT DAY that answered EVERY question my 5-year-old had, helped him up on the machines and explained EVERYTHING. He even knew how much the equipment cost when the 5-year-old asked! This is how much he liked the museum, on the way home, he asked, "Grammie, can we go there again tomorrow?"

“Very nicely done”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 7, 2012

This place was very cool and has something for everyone. Maybe a bit pricey for the whole experience but seeing the equipment up close and personal is great. Learning about the history and and the men and women who have dedicated so much to the area and the company was cool. Very good antique items too and interactive stuff for the kids. Would be good on a weekday as I am sure the weekend is very packed and probably not able to see or try everything as it is a bit small. Cool place though very fun.

“Great Fun!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 30, 2012

Very fun stop! Getting to run the simulators and sit in the cabs of some of the best equipment in the world is a blast! Families with 10-17 year old children, older folks, and CAT retirees alike will really really enjoy this stop!

“See this if you're into construction equipment”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 8, 2012

OK, so I'm biased, having worked at Cat for 35 years, but this display of Caterpillar history, machines and technology does a great job of capturing the essence of Caterpillar, Inc. Highlights include a multimedia film complete with "feel the power" seats, an historical area with the operator's station of an old tractor that you can sit on and see how to operate it, the technology displays, and, of course, the actual machines that you can climb into and get an idea of the complex work these machines are capable of doing. Of course, the pride of Cat employees shows through in the films and displays. But that's what this center is here for - to welcome you to Caterpillar - a company who has provided machines and engines to help the progress we've made as a nation possible for nearly 100 years.
