I've always heard the Fish House is a good place but finally gave it a shot the night after Valentine's Day. There were lots of drink options at good prices, especially the broad wine selection under $25/bottle. The menu is expansive with a huge seafood selection (many variations of dishes using the same fish types was nice). There were tons of lobster & crab dishes as well, but were a bit more on the pricey end.

I ordered the Grouper Oskar, on a bed of asparagus and topped with blue crab lumps, it was very good and cooked perfectly. My wife got the Red Grouper dish with au gratin potatoes and enjoyed it as well! She wanted me to vote 5 out of 5 but it takes a lot for me to go there. Great place, cozy ambience (a bit rustic, yes, which we like). I'm surprised there aren't more reviews on here for the Fish House...it's a popular place and it hit the mark for us! Give it a try, great for special occasions & romantic dining.

The Fish House has been a Peoria landmark for years. At their best, outstanding. Even on an off day they're consistently good. We love the broiled prawns, and especially the seared tuna with wasabi as an entre portion. Our son prefers the fried oysters and crab cakes. The au gratin potatos are outstanding as are the dinner rolls. Keep in mind, this is an old style, comfortable place with low lighting and dark siding. The bar is cozy, and the staff is friendly. We've been coming here three or four times per year for over a decade and we've never been disappointed. This is not a foodie place and don't expect high end technique or cutting edge menu choices. It's certainly not on par with the best of Chicago or Charleston, but it is a nice change from steak houses and Italian.
