Jim's has the best steak in town hands down. We go there only on special occasions so as not to get bored from it and they never let us down. Service is good and the food is better. Price is not too bad, expensive if your used to going to the typical restaurant chain.

My wife and I visited Jim's for our third anniversary. I pre- ordered their prime rib. I was very excited for this, as I was certain that this classic establishment would certainly provide a rib as good as any I could find in Chicago. I was gravely disappointed. Not only was the rib not how we ordered it, but we sent my wife's back three times and by the time it was "correct" it looked like a Pittsburgh style rib-eye. Our server, whose name I cannot recall was horrible. Splashed our wine, seemed bothered by a simple request, and just generally not happy with serving us. However, Nick, the manager, corrected the issue and issued us a gift cert for our meal.

That being said, we went back on the 22nd of October. We had tickets to see "Wicked" at the Civic Center. Nick knew us immediately, and provided us with "his best server". He was correct. Our server was exceptional. We did not order the prime rib. I ordered the Filet Oscar and my wife ordered a rib eye. The meal was okay. My feeling was, that for the price, it should have been of better quality. Again, Nick was gracious and did his job as manager. He comped some after dinner drinks and brought out a piece of that night's prime rib; which I must say was much better than the first time. Overall, I think Jim's is very proud of their menu, and should get back to basics and make the food they are famous for. I also think Nick is trying his best to turn things around down there, but it takes a whole team not just a Quarterback!!!!
