First let me start with the fact that there aren't that many places to eat within walking distance of downtown Peoria midday on a Saturday. We were lucky to spot Haddad's after trying to eat at a couple of other places that were closed.

We had soup, grilled cheese on pita, fries and sweet potato fries and they were all good.

Our waitress was born to be a waitress! She was friendly and helpful.

I've tried haddads befor but not the one downtown. Here the atmosphere is much open and relaxing and better! The owners r very nice. The food is great too, I tried the shawarma and it was great and the kibbeh side was great. The hummus is great! It doesn't just feel like a restaurant but more like a cafe where u can sit eat and relax! If only they were open on weekends other than that come n try haddads!

This location has been open approximately six months and is "in progress." Menu is a little difficult to understand, wait staff needs a hard look at and the atmosphere remains a little rough around the edges. Owner and wife are solid and many of menu items are top draw including baklava. I had three so-so cabbage rolls and a good chicken gyro. This family has a solid, good reputation in area with multiple pushcarts and another location managed by original Mom & Pop who came over from Lebanon. This downtown location will be in a prime area once new downtown Marriott opens 2/2013. They have until then to get it all together.

I love Lebanese food especially really good food and this is the best!
You can't go wrong with the gyros and fries but I love the hummus and falafels. I also never tried sweet potato fries until now, Yum!
Plenty on your plate to share or take home later and very convenient to downtown Peoria and week day activities!
