“Right place to stay.”
Reviewed December 17, 2012

I do computer consulting for all America, stay there because is right place, I have found nice and smart people, they really care of you, besides is comfortable, clean and care ... includes good breakfast, coffee and some meals at evening (all for free). After a hard day I can go to the GYM, or swim for a while. I recommend this a lot.

I was there for business trip and picked this hotel due to it's location as I was going to hockey games at the civic center. It is right across the street. Hotel seems (and the word is exact) new inside and it was very clean at first sight. but in fact this hotel is:

1 - Very expensive for the quality of service provided
2 - Rooms are poorly isolated so sleep quality is really poor
3 - Sauna is never cleaned
4 - They accept animals. if you have allergies do not go there
5 - Phone was broken

Room Tip: For the same amount of $ you can find much better

We picked this hotel due to it's location as we were going to hockey games at the civic center. It is right across the street. Hotel seems new inside and it was very clean. Front desk staff were very friendly/helpful. Breakfast options were good. It's also walking distance (but a bit farther) to some downtown restaurants/bars for before or after the game. It is also very close/convenient to Bradley University. We would stay again when in town for a hockey game.

First, the particulars. My son was visiting Bradley University and our travel party was four people. We stayed one night and even though a standard hotel room would have sufficed, I just like more room and seek suites when traveling with kids. Our room was a second floor room that was ready when we arrived early (noon) and check in was quick. My eldest kid always opts for the sleeper sofa...........that's fine by me as 17 yr olds stay up later than I care to now days. Double queen in the bedroom was very nice. The bathroom was spacious and had a separate "get ready room" from the tub/toilet combo. The refrigerator (though we didn't need it) was large. The morning breakfast was fine; nothing to rave about and nothing to complain about. I think the hotel was full that night, as the morning breakfast rush was busy but the staff cleared and restocked items quickly.

Negatives? Well, the swimming pool was small, but really, we didn't plan on using it anyway. What else? Oh, it's irritating for the bedroom tv to always "boot" up to the house programming, but what's another click? You see, I am reaching for negatives because it really was an outstanding stay.

Location-wise, it is a short walk/drive to Bradley, so if you're in town for the same reason we were, this is a good choice. the neighborhood was ok, nothing to write home about. We prefer a few restaurants close by, but for our purposes, we were going to eat somewhere close to the campus to get a feel for everything, so the lack of quality "eats" nearby wasn't a deal killer.

Stay period: July 2012
Duration: 3 weeks

I have been a regular for this hotel as I frequent business meetings. Whenever I am in Peoria to meet my clients, I choose this hotel. Following are my parameters and small input:

This time I stayed here for three weeks.

Location: Hotel is located right in the downtown, not very far from the main St. a 10 minute leisure walk from hotel will allow you to be at any office in downtown. Also they have a regular shuttle to downtown starting at 7 in the morning so travelling is not an issue. Also if you are adventurous, take a bus ride to anywhere for a dollar. The bus centre is 5 minutes walk. This bus stop is serviced by a charter service to Chicago. This makes this hotel a best place to stay.

Rooms: Little translucent in terms of voices/noise. You can hear a normal pitch talk in adjoinig rooms. Kids in corridor can definitely be heard. Rooms have kichenette, with good number of pots and pans, silverware, wine and scotch glasses and also a refrigerator which makes ice and ample sorage. I prefer this as I love to cook my own food, so the hotel gives you a good option if you want to cook yourself. The house keeping staff is very frindly they sometime do your dishes in the dishwasher. Rooms have their own aircondition unit so you can maintain it to your choice

There is a nice recently renovated gym and a decent size indoor swimming pool and a Jacuzzi.

Infact the complete hotel went for renovation recently, I like the new carpet and the open place at the breakfast area.

Breakfast is better than most of the peoria hotels, including Holiday inn in east peoria. They have good options for all kind of people.

They have plenty of options and specially the evening snack (they name it social) is a good time to mix with other guest. The hotel also has a small library and games section where you can play crosswords or other board games.

The staff very friendly and accomodating. Call the hotel directly to book a room, they give better deals as compared to any online site.

I am impressed with their services. They also have a small convinenance store.

The hotel also provides free self laundary service.

Only one negative point, I asked the lady at the front desk to give me a membership form so that I can be a priority member and get some free nights, She said that she will send the form to my room, but, other than that I will highly recommend this place.

Room Tip: Choose top floor rooms, that will keep you away from dining area hence be more quiter, try if you ca...

I stayed at the Staybridge during a conference at the Peoria convention center, which is across the street from this hotel. Desk staff was friendly and helpful. Verrrrrry nice room! Pillowtop mattress, full-size fridge, two-burner stove, full-size microwave, cabinet with dishes and cookware, sofa bed, clean bathroom. Wonderful hot breakfast options. In the lobby they had complementary drinks (beer, wine, soft drinks) and food that could be a full meal (chicken quesadillas one night; bratwurst the next) on the two evenings I was there. Even though this wasn't an "official" hotel for my conference, the rate I got was less than the rates at the conference hotels. It is further from the riverfront-area dining than other hotels, though.

Stayed here for two nights for a recent conference at the Civic Center across the street. The hotel is extremely clean and appears to be recently renovated in a contemporary and comfortable style. Since we were here on a Tuesday and Wednesday evening there was a social both nights with a free salad bar and different hot entree every evening with free wine and beer... this could be dinner for most people! The breakfast was also good with a number of hot items and fresh fruit. The room was huge with a very comfortable bed, flat panel television, and full kitchen. Very friendly staff and an unexpected gift at check-in for being a Priority Club member. Highly recommended.
