We stayed over the Easter weekend for a 40th birthday gathering - 10 adults and 7 children (mostly between 6 and 2 years old). It's a great venue for this sort of event: all the bedrooms except one are en suite; the dining table is big enough to seat everyone; there are enough sofas to for all; there's a separate small sitting room which we turned into the kids' playroom for the weekend; and the kitchen is astonishingly well supplied for a self-catering property - we never ran out of glasses, mugs or plates (and had the two dishwashers running pretty constantly). Everything was in good condition and tastefully decorated. The outside space is relatively limited (but with a huge barbecue and outside seating if the weather is kind) and the house is right on the A53, so there is some traffic noise. We would definitely stay there again if er can find a suitable occasion.
Second time visiting Quarnford lodge for our annual family reunion. Great kitchen with 2 dishwashers and al the utensils you need and more. Very quick responses to emails and also one shower hose broke whilst we were there which was fixed within hours. The fireplace is lovely and cosy, it's great to have open plan dining and living area so the group can all be together but still doing different things. You can push the dining room tables to the side and play table tennis which was enjoyed by all ages. Slight road noise from rooms at the front of the property but it didn't spoil our sleep. We have booked again for next year.
Just returned from a brilliant weekend at Quarnford Lodge for my sisters Hen Party.
The lodge is just perfect for larger parties of people, with 10 en-suite rooms, some double, twin & some slept 4 people.
There were 24 of us altogether & there was plenty of room for all. The bedrooms are all neutral, clean & bright with gorgeous views of Flash. The kitchen is suitable for the number of people, with two cookers, dishwashers & fridges! Perfect!
We also played pool over the weekend, & the dining room was just the right size for our Saturday night disco night!
I can't recommend Quarnford Lodge enough, it would be perfect for a large family Christmas & if the need arises in the future we would definitely rebook. Pete, the owner, was always very helpful & responded to all my email queries straight away.
We had a 60th birthday gathering of our children, partners, family and friends - 24 of us. The property has the most dramatic and yet very comfortable galleried dining room which was the perfect place for the meals and a party.
Fabulously equipped kitchen... tons of china and glasses and all the rooms were very comfortable, with superb showers.
Buxton is very handy, as is the pub... so anything needed is easy to get to.
We had a great time walking, sightseeing the snowdrops at Hopton Hall, and riding at Buxton stables. There is lots to do with Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, Bakewell and lots more.
Quarnford lodge was perfect for our large family get together. All rooms had en-suite, some with baths. There were plenty of tables and chairs for us all to eat together in the large living room. The pool table and table tennis tables were nice to have as was the karaoke machine. The kitchen was well equipped and we used the large BBQ. The house was warm and cosy and there were plenty of parking spaces.
Recently returned from our fourth visit to Quarnford Lodge - a great venue for our annual christmas get together with friends from around the UK.The property provides comfortable accommodation and all bedrooms have en suite facilities. There's plenty of room for the kids to do their own thing, the small games room is a bonus and a large kitchen for the adults has all the facilities needed to cook a massive Christmas dinner. Property has always been clean and tidy on arrival with heating on in advance if requested. Already rebooked for christmas 2014.
For many years our large family have dreamt of spending Christmas together and this year our dream came true. At most we had 22 staying and at least there was 19. Oldest was 82 and youngest was 6 . But quarnford lodge was perfect for all . All rooms had en suite except one which had its own bathroom across the corridor. All rooms were basic but comfortable. Each room had either a wardrobe or a chest of drawers which was adequate but would be better with both . The kitchen was superbly equipped with loads and loads of crockery, glasses knives and forks pots and pans etc . Before we went I was worried about how we would manage to cook a Christmas dinner for so many people but It was no problem with 2 ovens and 2 dishwashers. There is a games room with a karaoke machine and a pool table and there is also a table tennis table which can be played in the large hallway. There is a large porch that can house muddy boots and bikes and great for keeping the beer cold ! There is a big log burner which you have to supply your own logs for but it is well worth it as it keeps the front room and dining room toastie. It's a good location for walking and cycling and not far from Buxton . Overall we all had a wonderful Christmas and would definitely recommend quarnford lodge
